They the usual crispness (if you want to call It that) on the outside. The inside is a very dense cookie, not raw but very moist. This might be a dumb question... But are the cookies still a cookie TEXTURE? Or more like cake? Are cookies the big tender, but crisp?

Can anyone say how well the cookies keep/travel? Planning to get some to bring home to my Dad, and will be flying.....so just trying to see.
There are rumors that it’s Covid relatedLooks like they are closed again? Anyone know why?
There are also rumors that their coffee machine broke. There are rumors that it’s Covid related
We purchased ours Tuesday evening, flew home with them Wednesday evening (kept in the original wrapper and placed in a plastic zip lock), and they are just as good today. I plan to freeze the rest tonight.
There are also rumors that their coffee machine broke.
There are also rumors that it was a planned closure as they were only having a soft opening in 2020 and had planned to re shut down prior to having their grand opening.
We shouldn’t jump to conclusions that it’s COVID related.
While that may be true, I choose to believe what the actual company has shared......I don’t want to distrust everybody and assume that they are lying just because we are in a pandemic. They said soft opening and making decisions to better serve their guests in the future, so let’s hope they learned a lot and will be opening once they figure out what is best to do.Were you able to take it in carry-on, the way it's packaged? Or does it have to be checked?
I don't think it's unfair to assume things are COVID related in our current society. We have had a number of restaurant closures within our community, with no explanation at first. People assume COVID, then people say "You can't assume that!!!" And then, a couple of days later....every single one, has turned out to be COVID.
Occam's Razor: the simplest explanation is usually the right one. Which is why I don't begrudge anyone for any assumptions they make.
Exactly. And this is on Disney property. We have to believe that Disney will be more forthcoming with any COVID outbreaks that happen on their property. While that may be true, I choose to believe what the actual company has shared......I don’t want to distrust everybody and assume that they are lying just because we are in a pandemic. This closure is due to the soft opening situation or because of a broken coffee machine.

Yes, carry-on. The cookies are individually wrapped and placed in a rectangular brown box from Gideons. We ditched the brown box and placed them in a large ziplock.
At the security checkpoint, you will be required to remove any food items from carry-on and place in a plastic bin to go through the scanner. That’s where ziplocks come in handy![]()

You don't close a COOKIE shop because the coffee machine is broke. You take coffee off the menu.
I wouldn’t doubt the orders of peanut butter brew broke the machine, lol...but highly unlikely for the closure
My hunch, soft opening exceeded expectations.
Well, that’s why it was a soft opening? That is definitely a real possibility...but once again, how were they surprised by it when every single one of us was expecting it? Disney is always caught off guard by these openings or roll-outs. Their computer crashes, the ride breaks down, they ran out of product. How on Earth are these people always caught like a deer in the headlights??? Gideon's owner knows how popular his product is and how highly anticipated the opening was. If they were unprepared and not expecting 3 hour waits for months after opening then he is an idiot.
Well, that’s why it was a soft opening?
They had always planned on closing before reopening as a grand opening. They rushed to soft open for the holiday rush, and then had planned to do their grand opening January. It's more likely Covid. And if so it was very responsible of them to close temporarily. I wish more businesses would do so when it happens.
