GI Joe...fun for everyone!

I need to go to bed. Everything is all confusing!

So CE plays a character called The Doctor in a TV show.... not to be confused with the character called The Doctor in the movie, which CE is in but doesn't play?

LOL.

Especailly if you staged epic battles in your backyard or basement with all of your GI Joe action figures (maybe in a battle against your Star Wars guys...)with your friends, cousins and neighbors. It almost seems like they lifted the plot from one of our many "wars" my sisters, cousins and I had. BTW, I ALWAYS picked Snake Eyes. :lovestruc

Anyhoo...so we went and saw the movie last night. My favorite type of film; loads of action, great special effects, and a smattering of cheese. SO much fun! It was a hoot to hear all the shout-outs to the cartoon of the 80's. And seriously, I have a crush on Snake Eyes AGAIN!

Here's to hoping for a long and happy series in the movie biz for this franchise.

Before leaving, I mentioned this to my husband, and now that he has seen the movie, he totally agrees with you. He and my brother loved it!

And for anyone with younger kids who may be wondering if it'd be okay for them, he said that there wasn't alot of blood in the movie but it was violent (similar to the first "Transformer" movie). The thing that is keeping him from letting our 5-year-old tomboy see it was "some genetic manipulation that was pretty gross".

LuvCuteBoys: CE played the 9th Doctor on Doctor Who so totally different character.

I don't know if I ever played with a G.I. Joe, or watched the cartoons.... I know who he is, but that is as far as it goes. And I remember the Eddie Murphy joke about G.I. Joe "with the Kung Fu grip". :rotfl:

Tell them that "knowing is half the battle!"..hahahah!!!

Seriously, we would spend HOURS picking guys, weapons, vehicles, bases and plan for an EPIC war, usually in the basement where my cousin had the GI Joe aircraft carrier (it was like 7 feet long), or out in the backyard for a more "rugged" battle. My cousins finally got tired of playing with me because I would always pick the "Joe" who came with some sort of toy animal sidekick likean eagle or a wolf. Then I would make the EAGLE the commander of my squad and very often the wolf would be found in the cockpit of my toy jet, piloting my team to a very debatable victory.

I used to get out in the yard with my cousin and play with them in the ditch. Build forts so we could stage a battle (we hated moving rocks out of the garden, but would move them to build a fort long enough for him to stretch his long legs in (he was around 6' at that point) :rotfl: ). I remember having to BEG Mom to get me the figures (didn't want dolls) as I was more of a tomboy growing up.

Always thought that the Cobra guys had the neatest, coolest looking uniforms out there! :)

Just a note... this movie isn't appropriate for young kids. Maybe an 11 or 12 year old who doesn't mind violence, but way too much hands on violence for young kids. We left our DS8 at home and were glad we did, but saw kids as young as 5 in the theater. In addition to the violence, the story/plot had a lot of flashbacks and would be difficult for younger kids to understand.
