Ghosts (friendly) in Walt Disney World ?

Okay, what did I miss? I didn't see any ghost in this video? :confused3

Check out 1:22-1:25 a person appears sitting in the seat a few seats over from the maint-man.

It was funny watching him regardless.. his shrug when his hat falls off was classic.

Thanks! If you stop it exactly on 1:24 you can see the figure very clearly. Guess this is why I'll never be a Ghost Hunter. It just looked like a light flash viewing on a normal speed.

My DH and I rode POC a couple of weeks ago. It was not crowded so there were no people (kids) around when I asked the loading CM a question. "Does George really exist?" The CM looked at me and remarked, "Yeah...we have a cast member, "George", and he worked here yesterday." He then changed the subject quickly. When we sat in the boat...alone because the ride was pretty empty...my husband asked "What the heck were you asking that guy...who is George?" I laughed and told him that I would tell him later.

IM SCARED!!!!

There is also a man sitting behind him at exactly 0:27.

This is silverhaze269's girlfriend writing this, just so you know, :rotfl: but I have a "ghost story" of sorts at Disneyworld, though it was more than a little spooky. :scared1:

I was at Disney with my aunt in 2008, my second-last trip, when something a little odd happened on the Dinosaur ride in the animal kingdom. I got on, I was in the second seat in from the left, and an old man sat next to me. Pretty nondescript old guy--nothing fancy about his clothes, had grey hair and a short beard, and was wearing a ballcap, which he didn't take off. What was weird from the get go is throughout the whole ride he did NOT react to anything. Dinosaur is a pretty shaky, loud ride, and usually y'know...there's laughing and shouting and ...reactions to stuff. This guy hung on, but kept the same bland look on his face the entire time, didn't react, smile, or anything. Okay, maybe just a weird old man.

When we got off the ride I went to check the ride photos they snap of you partway through, and when ours came up, it looked like the old man had no eyes. He did NOT have sunglasses on during the ride, or even normal glasses, and there was NOTHING wrong with his eyes when he got on, but in that photo, there was nothing but black all around where his eyes should've been. Also, he was looking straight ahead in the photo--not at the dinosaur/camera--and again, bland expression. My aunt saw the photo too, and agreed it was way weird and way spooky. Also, she says she never saw him getting off the ride--he didn't pass us, and wasn't behind us. Now granted we weren't looking for him at the time, but...eep.

But yeah, kinda creepy, always wondered what was up with him.

I have to say that would have gave me the heebie geebies all day, thanks for sharing!:scared1:

Any rumors or seen ghosts in Walt Disney World ?

I have heard at Pirates of Caribbean, the CM's say hello to 'George' when the rides opens and the rides works great all day. George was a worker who died when the ride was being buildt. A friendly gentleman who likes a hello in the morning.

Any other rides who get a hello from the CM's ?

Does anyone know if this is just an informal thing that the CMs do? Or is it, like a hidden Mickey, just a little extra Imagineering? Or is it mandated for the position that you must say hello to George in the morning.

I'm just thinking I would feel like a tool if saying hello to a ghost in order to keep a ride working was part of my job.

Okay, what did I miss? I didn't see any ghost in this video? :confused3 Is it supposed to be the guy with the clipboard? And why would they be videotaping him, zooming in and out all the time? :confused3

There is a much clearer "ghost" at :26 - :27. But I think there is a very clear explanation. Look up Pepper's Ghost, whats happening is the same type of thing that happens at HM.

It looks like this is a video of a computer monitor. What you are most likely seeing is the reflection of people in the room on the monitor.

I cannot believe I have never heard of 'George' before. Now I really can't wait to get back to WDW. I love ghost stories as much as I love WDW! pirate:

I have this "gift" of seeing people that other people don't see. Been like this since I was small. Some think I'm either crazy or lying but it's the truth. Am a Disney Freak and go down as much as I can. First time I rode H.Mansion saw a little boy(maybe 9yo) standing at the exit crying. Saw George once late at night,we were the only ones going on the ride (parade was going on) he was in a small alcove working with tools at a bench. Saw the girl and boy on the spaceship earth ride while waiting in line-each in a different car, side by side staring out as they rode by said to my grandson "Look at these kids!" the boy smiling looked over at the girl. they seem playful they've also been seen by others skipping and chasing each other in front of the ride and it's said that they disappear right before your eye. Think I saw roy Disney at epcot after illuminations. It was aug, mighty hot, turned to leave and saw this guy staring up into the sky-had a moustache and dressed in a cardigan and long slacks. Looked familiar to me but didn't connect to roy til I read a lady's post of having seen roy at epcot. I've had other experiences in and around the Boston area. I try to talk to all these apparitions but they don't respond. They are all full-bodied-no opaqueness, they're solid.

This does not qualify as a "ghost" story, but one time the CM at Peter Pan sprinkled Pixie Dust on the lap bar, and it magically went down.

Also, I heard the sword refuses to come out of the stone unless a CM with a hip pack is nearby.

Weird!
