Ghosts at Polynesian?

Has anyone ever heard about or seen ghosts at the Poly? I just read two seperate reviews on Tripadvisorcom of people seeing ghosts in their room at the poly. One person said she saw an old bald man dressed in the old poly uniform standing in her room!!! We are going in 2 weeks and I would like to request a "ghost free" room..hahah!!

I think these people may have had one too many Lapu Lapu's when they "saw a ghost"

I am not joking. Go to Tripadvisors website and you can read it for yourself. One messag was from last week but the other was from 2005.

We've stayed at the Poly before and our last trip I did hear/feel something in our room . . .We stayed in Figi on the 3rd floor facing the marina. The room was not an updated room, but it was HUGE and it was great considering it was considered a standard room.

I'm just overly sensitive to things for the most part as nobody else but me heard it. We were all asleep and it was early morning, maybe 3am, and I swore that I heard someone come in the through the door and then something went whoooooosh and hit the curtains on the sliding glass door . . .that freaked me out a bit . . .it was only that one night though and I have no idea what it was.

Could it have been the A/C coming on after being off for a while? I noticed it was pretty loud at times.

Well, now I think I know why some of the rooms have such a musty, ghost-like smell!

There was a post not to long ago about a prowler at the CR and WDW acknowleged a trasspass into a room. Maybe it wasn't a ghost, but if it was, my wife wants to stay in that room.

i do remember maybe around halloween last yr someone posted a site where they talked about haunted wdw places...maybe you could do asearch for it as i don't remember if the polynesian was mentioned or not

I think he was actually a ghost of a alligator hunter hired by Disney to catch those "real big" gators you see people post about all the time. But the gators got him 1st.

I wouldn’t laugh at the gator thing. I have a photo of one but it was only about 3-4 feet I am guessing since it was in the water. We saw a rather large one at the Emperies Lilly (now called Fullton’s) and it was on the back dock that was about 6-8 foot.

you can probably do some research- do a google search of orlando ghosts- you may be able to contact a ghost tour company- they may have some info!

last time DH and i were in disney we did a ghost tour of church street station it was really cool- we were the only ones on the tour, it was a beautiful clear night, we were in front of a building that was a mortuary, while the guide was explaining the history to us, a HUGE gust of wind whipped down the street blowing sand and paper all around-- even the guide thought it was a bit strange- after a few seconds- it stopped and went back to complete calm!

anytime DH visit a historical town on vacation (savannah, charleston, rhode island, nantucket, PA etc)- we always book a B&B-- i do research first JUST BE SURE IT HAS A HISTORY OF GHOSTS!

I know that ghost! I saw him more than a few times at the Haunted Mansion ride in MK. I'm sure he got lost...................

Hi! I checked out of Tokelau room 1903 today and around 4 am the “speaker phone” button on the room telephone came on! It took me a second to find what was making the noise and then after I cut it off… a few seconds later it came back on! I was wondering if there’s a spirit poly worker trying to alert guests on their mornings of departure! There’s lots of construction going on right now ! Maybe something paranormal has been stirred!? I had to leave today so I didn’t get to ask anyone about while I was there. Please share if you have had/heard of anything like this from anyone else

I was in room 1903 Tokelau and the speaker phone button on the room phone turned on by itself, we were asleep, it was between 3:30-4:00am . After I cut the button off it came back on before I got back in bed and I turned and cut it off again. It felt sort of ghostly… I told my husband that it was a paranormal wake up call since we checked out today hahaha! I tried to look to see if it had happened to anyone else and I found your post!
