I didn't see any other threads about the ghost mentioned on the podcast. What does everybody think? I thought it was interesting that the youtube poster had a name specific for this video only. I think the team is probably right - Disney trying to get a viral video. . .

But who knows? ooooooooooooooooooooo:eek:

Im not a believer in Ghosts (although I think they are really cool and when I see proof they exist I shall change my mind!). So I should imagine from what I saw that it was a viral by Disney. But that being said I wasnt clear it was a human figure when I was watching it. I just saw a dim light swirly smoky thing moving around. It could just be light being reflected onto the screen?

I wonder if we will ever know?

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!!!! :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnjibWcbV2o the link is here for the Ghostly video!

It's pretty clear once you know where on the screen to look. Given that it is Halloween time, yeah, I think it was released by Disney. Still, it is fun to watch!

I want to watch the you tube link but I am so scared of this kind of stuff! I know I wont sleep for a week....even when I see scary movie commericals on tv i get scared...Im such a baby!!!!! :scared1::laughing:

It has to be something Disney did since they normally wouldn't release security tapes.

I saw this on the list a few days ago when I was looking up Disneyland on youtube but didn't watch it before because I just figured it was some crack pot. Obviously, it is fake but I don't know if was some sort of DLR promotion for the new Space Ghost ride or not. Or maybe it is even possible for someone to take their own video at DLR and play it on a security camera set up. I'm trying to think where they could be do this. Maybe the treehouse? Don't know? :confused3

It must be a Disney Viral...Who on earth would randomly be videotaping security cameras...and on that note...if you happened to be videotaping the security how could this guy follow the ghost so easily from one screan to the next...I can barely see the "ghost" half the time...forget see where it is actually going

Excellent point. At first glance, when you see the multiple security tapes, you think that it has to be real.

But when you think about it, there is no way someone would have a video camera in the security center video taping the screens. And especially taking at the moment that a "ghost" was walking through the park.

If it was real, it'd just be the one angle. like someone saw it, they collected the tape from that camera, that night.

But very nicely done. Excellent work. I just wonder what the viral video is for. new ride? new party?

I was thinking... is it normal that the park is so empty? I mean aren't there lots of people that work at night? Anyways, if it is Disney idea I think it's a brilliant way of doing pubblicity to the parks on halloween time!

I watched it and the ghost moves a little.....quickly. Aren't ghosts supposed to float??? :confused3

And John's right, at one point it does appear that the "ghost" stoops down and picks something up.....

I thought that as well...I have friends that work the night shift at MK and they say they wait backstage until the last guest leaves and then the whole park lights up and is filled with cleaning crews, maintenance, whatever...When the park closes for the night that doesn't mean it is empty and devoid of people, it's just devoid of paying guests.

Fake or not fake, its still a fun video! If I were a ghost, I would def. stay at WDW!

Did anyone else wonder why the "ghost" stayed on the sidewalk? I mean, if I'm a ghost, I'm not going to care about staying off the grass. Unless it is John's grass, of course.

Actually, you can replay security camera tapes. It's done all the time - shoplifting busts, convenience store robberies on the news, etc. That's how they can explain that he knows where it is on the film.

I personally liked how the ghost walked out onto the Rivers of America....

Needless to say, you could shoot the actor for the apparition on green screen, do the effects to make him ghostly, and overlay it onto actual security camera footage and then replay it on the monitors.

The angle has to be from that lamppost up by the trees of the little "park next to the mansion entrance - I'll look Saturday. Treehouse is too far away and too many large trees in between.
