LOL this has turned into a fun thread! So they were taking Aps, then they werent, now they are again? I will be there next Friday so I hope the circle comes back to 'will' by the time I'm there!

Just was there the other day. Line to get in. No joke! But they were giving away samples of the milk chocolate sqaures with caramel inside.

Yum! I must hit DTD at WDW on the wrong days, I seem to hit the mint chocolate samples. I don't like mint at all.

Does anyone Know if they accept gift cards? I would like to give my DH one just for the trip, knowing with our family sundaes are going to cost $100! Easier to do it when he has a gift card in his hands!

Visited on Wed, 6/6. Had a great time. Tried the Banana Split and the Rock Road sundae. Both excellent. The service is interesting. If you purchase a register 2, you go to window 2. A single person gets your order and makes it up. You'll get one item then they go make the next one. If you have a large order, the first person to get theirs might be done before the last person gets theirs (or on a hot day, the ice cream will be melted). They are going to have to "fix" that one I think.

Love the place though.

It just hit me about this place. I heard Disneyland was getting one and I though oh cool but mostly I thought of the chocolate samples they give out at WDW. I forgot about their menu !! I'm always so full from the dining plan in WDW that it's not often I can have a sundae but they are soooo good! Not to mention the shakes and ice cream flavors ! It's so yummy! Then on top of this, and with Cars Land and even Earls of Sandwich coming...oh my. I'm going Disneyland crazy here, planning away for when I can next visit !

Yes! They do take gift cards! I spoke to the manager yesterday. Very friendly. I received a caramel sample.

Will they take the Ghirardelli gift cards there? If they do, Costco online has a 4 pack of $25 Ghirardelli gift cards for $79.99. I am hoping they do take them, and does anyone know if the Starbucks will accept Starbucks gift cards?

I used my gift card yesterday and even got the AP discount. Sweet! I threw them for a loop tho when I asked for a green tea Frap! lol They made it for me and a cast member came up and asked me what it was. He had never seen one.

I had issues at this place. I know it just opened, so I expected it to be a little chaotic, and busy, but still. Some of my complaints from our visit last Saturday night:

• No menus available inside
• Forced to order before seeing the other items for sale, like gift boxes and bags of chocolates
• Spoons were flimsy and way too short for the tall cups
• Pick up was really chaotic, and MESSY with everyone's orders handed to them with toppings dripping down the sides! Would be nice if more care was given before handing them over, or wipe them down, or something. Napkins are only available to customers outside the store.
• Portions were huge, and so was the price. Really, most people will have to share, which sucks for me, since my DH is really picky and limited in what he will eat. I threw away more than half of mine, sadly, though it was my one dessert "cheat" on my diet for my birthday. Not something you could easily save for later.

I just want to say that I really am sad to be down on this whole experience, as I was really excited to try it. Maybe my expectations were too high? I hope that they've resolved some of these issues before we return next January.

Just now enjoyed an icecream cone at Ghiradelli's. They gave me an AP discount, but couldn't take my Disney gift card. The cashier said they weren't set up for that yet. YMMV
