GFV Sales open to public

Today's the day! GFV is up to $150/point and sales are open to the general public.

The resort is featured on the DVC main webpage today, so any guesses on how sales will go now that they are open to all?

It sounded like there were many people in the que to get points and become members as this opened up. I know when we were adding on at least 2 other couples were setting up there buys for GFV for today when they could. Also we have had a number of people on the board checking on this as well.

Pretty sure its 25 pts to existing DVC members, 50 to new.

I am all set to buy 150 pts a day, but I am trying to get specific dates. My guide "gets in" at 10 today. Should I just call now and speak to anyone?

I was just trying to sound cool I am really staring at my phone...I'm going to check my card now too I emailed my guide yesterday just to make sure I didn't need to do anything else, and he said he would call when it went through...Of course he probably says that to all the girls

No hit to my card yet.....

Trying to get high demand dates in early Dec. My guide told me he could get me Bay Lake Towers as a back up, I just have no interest in staying there, so little interest, that if I do not get my dates, Ill pay out of pocket for FW and save the points

Oh yeah, if you want to book a time then you should be a pest! I have a looooong wait (2015) before I can go. I am just excited to finally be dvc I am with you on BLT, I have no desire to stay there. Good Luck! I think I saw somewhere that it was already tight in December. When did you get in the queue?

One thing changed....New Grand Floridian members are not yet allowed to book at the GF.

At 9 AM on sunday the 23rd, you can book, but so can everyone else. Everyone else can only book 4 months out though, we have 11.

And yes, i know december is tight! I will be on the phone at 9 am sunday morning.

That stinks about the 23rd...I glazed over that when he was talking to me about it since I am so far away I think they should have given us a little bit of an advantage...At least now until the 23rd....jeez!

Well that was what was supposed to happen, being able to book today, hence my impatience. Non GF members were supposed to have to wait until the 23rd

I just checked the first 2 weeks of Dec. Studio Standard is currently WL for 6-8. Studio Lake is WL for 4-9, 11. This obviously influences the 2bd lockoffs. But everything else is still wide open!

I think they should have given us a little bit of an advantage...At least now until the 23rd....jeez!

You do have some advantage. Everyone else will only be able to book Oct 23 + 7 days on Sunday and anything after 1/1 within 7 months. Owners still have an advantage for booking the rest of the year.

Well I am looking for the 12/1-12/11 with back up dates of 12/8-12/18. With 1-11 I was planning on checking out friday and saturday night, then back in on sunday.

I got some flex in there so I can do 11/30-12/10, etc.

Standard studio was WL for only the 7th and 8th as of last week, so I guess another night went down.

I believe they say the minimum is 100 points for new members, but we asked for an exception to buy as little as 75 points and it was granted.

Pretty funny....I would be happy to reach my credit limit on a DVC purchase and get all those miles! I can't use it on my resale, but that would've been a free ticket down to FL!

Yep! Double points at that!!! Woo-Hoo!! That's at least one ticket I don't have to worry about! AND 6 months no financing - yay!

Not sure how DVC classifies the transaction but I would inquire if it was classified correctly to get the double points. If it is the Disney Chase and double points on Disney purchases I think you should be fine but if you get double points on travel you may not get them. I have had that happen to me that the hotel in UK we stayed at did not put the transaction down as travel they used something else!
