I am working with one of the large DVC brokers to rent points for a stay next November. Today was my 11 month booking window (Specific Dates removed) and I was told that according to DVC Member Services there is no availability for 2 bedroom villas, lake or standard views for my dates. Do you think it is because my arrival is so close to Thanksgiving and if I booked a few days later there would be availability or do you think there is just such a demand that all next fall it will be difficult regardless of dates?

I've edited your thread to remove your specific travel dates, as it could be considered a Reservation Wanted thread...Chuck S

That is the highest demand week for DVC all year. This is a surprise to those who think of this time as lower crowd.

It is not surprising there is no availability, although your broker may have meant points or they may have meant units. Half of the 2BR units at VGF are lock-offs, which means when people book studios those 2BRs are no longer in inventory. I well believe all 2BR lock-offs are gone for that week.

For what it's worth, we're in a similar boat. We own at VGF and are working on booking a 2BR for early Dec and have noticed availability is a bit spotty so it is certainly possibly/likely that there isn't a 2BR available for those dates. And my guess is that the later you get in December, the harder it will be to book a 2BR since demand is high and it is among the cheaper times of the year (in terms of points needed).

It's **/**/** blocked in standard and the 29th that's blocked out in the other three types of 2 bed.

There is a glut of points in the system this year due to COVID cancellations and banking, people are booking as early as possible, and many are walking reservations for Christmas week. Things may open up in a few days once the reservation walkers pass your dates, or they may not, as that season is extremely popular with DVC Members.

This is helpful. Thanks much!
But if you’re a renter who is going thru a broker, they would need to have a VGF owner with a sufficient number of points to book your dates. So, room availability might relax a bit but point availability might still be an issue.

I want to add that anyone who posts something here for what may or may not be available is frankly useless to anyone else...which is why we specifically ask people not do it.

Things change so much that until one actually can book, it doesn’t matter. I have seen something disappear within minutes after booking something else, going back an hour later, and other things were there,

It is because you are so close to the 1st of December - the most popular DVC week of the year. Nada to do with Thanksgiving. People walk though so in a week it might be available to book all the dates.

Really it's a low point week and frustrating to book and not the best time to try and earn the broker their cut. Try something easier would be my best recommendation.

I just finished up a phone call with Member Services to extend my 2-night VGF reservation in a 2BR into December (I have a December UY). Oddly enough, the night of Dec. 6th is unavailable in a dedicated 2BR. It wasn’t even available before 8 AM today, which is when the +7 nights would have been freed up for the 11-month window. I’m wondering whether some rooms have been pulled from inventory for the scheduled soft goods refreshment?

There's fairly frequent inventory "glitches" - or at least that's the benefit of the doubt I've tended to try and give them. But around the 50th there were a lot of those "glitches" and then when a few called in to complain a lot of them cleared. It looked a lot like DVC booked rooms themselves ahead of the 11 month window.

It appears gone for all 2 bedrooms 🤔 we’re going to want that date too 😩

And they might have a lot fewer owners willing to rent out their points through that specific broker because of the poor treatment so many got during the pandemic early days.
