Is there a difference in buy GFV vs GFV2? If we bought in at GFV2 would we only be able to book GFV2 at 11 months?
At this point, we could go back to VGF because it’s all one resort in the same condo association.
I'm giving it a few months for the VGF2 distinction to wear off due to the intensity of opinions regarding the extent to which add-on and new buyers may impact VGF1's availability.
That could take a while to settle down, I'm thinking, as "lively" as some of those discussions have been.
I think people are going to say "VGF2" to mean "Resort Studios" for at least a decade.VGF2 was a term used here prior to sales beginning again. At this point, we could go back to VGF because it’s all one resort in the same condo association.
My question is whether the ‘new’ building will keep it’s name - Big Pine Key - like the converted longhouses at the Poly did. I always thought it a bit odd that the GF DVC building didn’t get a name like the other buildings there have.
Thanks all! I thought I might need a waitlist for GVF.
I think it's more likely that the existing VGF building will get a new, more specific name.My question is whether the ‘new’ building will keep it’s name - Big Pine Key - like the converted longhouses at the Poly did. It’ll work just like AKV, I own 2 contracts both deeded to Kidani & I always book at Jambo.
I now own 2 contracts at VGF, one deeded to VGF1 & the new one to VGF2, & will mostly try to stay at VGF1.

Ah, the main building was a bit too pricey for my budget in my pre DVC era, so I was very focused on the outer buildingsI'd guess it'll remain BPK as the Poly longhouses retained their designations.
I never thought of VGF as not having a distinctive name, myself. It seemed its own entity as set off from the others as it is. Also, we'd always stayed in the main building before buying in, so I'd rarely paid attention to what the lodges' names were.
I don’t think they need to make a new name because BPK is only resort studios and all other rooms are in the DVC villa building.
Hmmm, now, I gotta wonder, Sandisw, is that "only resort studios" strictly a description, or was a wee bit of opinion expressed there?![]()
We did a tour of the new room layout last week and added more VGF points. Our guide was saying that the hotel room feel of the new one was apparently based on guest feedback in the sense of guests wanting two queen beds and more space and so the kitchenette was the sacrificial lamb. The new rooms are quite nice, but definitely more hotel room than villa. Hopefully when you book a studio you will know whether it's original or Big Pine, because it would affect how much and the kind of groceries we would bring. Our guide also said to express our feelings about it on these boards so Disney may pay attention. Adding a sink is unlikely though since there is no space for it in the little nook above the beverage cooler.
Lol. Our guide couldn't answer that question, neither could the Quality Assurance folks at SSR when we had the new contracts notarized. So thank youYou will know what you are getting because the new rooms are a resort studios and the others are deluxe studios.
LOL, all they had to do was to look at the points charts! Yep, goes to show they don’t really know what they’re selling.Lol. Our guide couldn't answer that question, neither could the Quality Assurance folks at SSR when we had the new contracts notarized. So thank you![]()
