Ok, so we're planning a trip for next year, staying at the GF garden view. Last time we stayed at GF, we did the RPC (the length of the trip wasn't as long) and we LOVED RPC. Now, we're trying to decide whether we want to upgrade. The issue is, the price difference from garden view to RPC is $2700. As much as we love it, that just seems like WAY too much to spend just for some snacks and the room location. Would you do it?

While I love the GF...not sure I would spend that on RPC.....especially when that is our monthly mortgage payment! lol

Yes, unfortuantely:(
Not trying to steal the thread OP:)

But keep the money and enjoy the GF:) Hope for an upgrade! Even if its Lagoon view, you will have a wonderful time:)

Here is an idea - can't you just do some of your time in a Garden View, then some of your time in the RPC. That way, the price won't be such a shocker!!

:thumbsup2

Way tooo much $ IMO.

But then again I'm having a hard time spending the money for a value next june. A deluxe would never happen for us.

If I had an extra $2700 to throw away, it sure wouldn't be for some snacks and a view!

There are so many other great things at Disney and Orlando to spend your money on.
I can't see paying that much money to stay in a Deluxe at all actually. I would much rather have a condo or rental house with a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a washer and dryer, etc. I know it would be convenient to be on the monorail line, but my kids would rather spend the money having fun somewhere else:rotfl:

You're going to get very different answers because others do not have the same income and frame of reference that you do.

Kudos for staying at the Grand Floridian! :yay: I'm a Contemporary Resort gal myself and feel that the splurge is worth it. However, I DID NOT spring for concierge level this trip because the price difference was outside my comfort level. I'm just so happy to be staying in my favorite resort. I did stay in concierge once and liked it very much; but for the prices they're asking now... I just don't think I'd get THAT much more happiness out of the few extra amenities. JMHO.

Ok, who said it was worth it?

And can I tag along with you on your next trip :rotfl: ? If you can spend $2700 on a view I want to be part of your family.

IMHO I do not think it is worth that much money, but I have never stayed RPC either. We get 2 rooms when we travel (6 people) and I could afford to stay RPC, but I can not justify the added cost. For us it is MK view rooms since that is what we love. Each time I almost break down and book RPC I think of how many people I can feed who are starving and think there are better uses for our money than some extra snacks and a lounge. And for the record I would love a mortgage that was 2700.00 housing in the northeast is expensive:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I agree with Doc Goofy's sentiments exactly,,,, do what's within your comfort level. None of us knows what your financial situation is and whether $2700 is disposable income. Personally, I think it's too much. You could end up with the same garden veiw in RPC and your only benefit is the club level lounge and the few extra amenities like pre-planning assistance. Someone else mentioned a split stay, which is a good consideration, depending on how long your vacation is. If it's 6 or 7 nights, I'd probably do the last 2 nights in RPC. That way, you're at the end of your trip and you can relax and enjoy the resort more.

I voted "It's worth it" because I think that having already stayed there, if you didn't think it was worth it, you wouldn't even be considering it right now! lol

However, I think that if you stay in a garden view room you'll still have a wonderful time. :sunny:
