Yep, that looks like a new room! The colors are softer and not as busy as before - we preferred the Boca Chica rooms because they kept the floral without Alice after the last refurbishment.

Wonder if all the rooms are like this or if other buildings have a different design/color scheme. The beds do not appear as high...maybe it is just the angle.

It does, but it makes a difference what wing of the building you're in. Some areas of Conch Key have five floors, others (like the rooms overlooking the MK) have only 4.

You're right about the trees in front of Boca Chica -- why don't they just cut them down?

One word, "erosion". I believe they can and have trimmed some out, but I don't think they can remove them all.

Tammi: Thanks, I can see it now (looking at a photo I took last October that shows both wings). It doesn't really matter what floor we request, though, does it, since they don't assign the rooms until we check in? DH thinks they'll honor his requests, but after reading these boards I tend to think not.
