GF walkway to Contemporary?

Does anyone know if you’ll be able to walk from the Grand Floridian to the Contemporary via the new walkway without going through a baggage/security check? Or will you be herded through a checkpoint regardless? Trying to figure out if it will be a viable option to go between the hotels after the monorail and park shuts down for the night....
