DH and I have stayed at GF 3 times, honeymoon '97, again in 2001 & then in 2005 for 1st trip w/ DS. Really love it there, so beautiful and everyone is sooooo nice. This Oct staying at Poly for 1st time for 4 nights prior to bahamas cruise. Sooooo much to do, won't really be capitalizing on the hotel. So, for future, would you rather spend a week at GF or Poly? Both are ideal in that they are on the monorail system, but how about service and cleanliness, activities at resort for children under 10, activities for adults, restaurants, pools, etc...
Traveling in late Oct, and only 4 days, doesn't give much "downtime" to enjoy resort, we will relax on cruise. But if it was a summer adventure, and you wanted to take some time to enjoy the full use of hotel, which would you pick...
