I just called the GF spa to find out prices and details about the spa treatments they offer. I wanted to get my little sister a massage and manicure on her birthday when we are there in December. The lady I spoke with said I could only make reservations for spa treatments two days in advance. Is that true? Now I'm worried that I won't be able to get her one on her birthday because they will be all booked up. Should I just give up and find some other nice present for her?

That doesn't sound right.

I arranged for spa treatments for DH and I on our honeymoon, and I remember doing it several months in advance. So what do they think you're supposed to do....get there & find that the day you planned for treatments has already been booked????

I'd call back and ask to speak to a supervisor. If you can't get a better answer, try other Disney spas (like Animal Kingdom Lodge).

Here's something to remember.....the spa at the GF is not operated by Disney cast members. They are actually employees of a fitness company who LEASES that space from Disney.

Well, I just called back and spoke with someone else and they confirmed that it was only 2 days in advance. That's too bad because I probably won't do one now.

I'd hate to set aside a whole special afternoon for it, and then not be able to book one. That wouldn't give me much time to come up with another birthday treat for her.

I guess I'll call some of the other places that do massages and see what their booking policies are.:(

Try the DISNEY Spa at the Disney Institute. They offer some of the same treatments as GF spa and more. I know this spa takes ressies months in advance -- my DW and I planned spa treatments for our 25th anniversary celebration in May this year.

Wow that is a shame, they must have just changed that recently because I had made our reservations well in advance before

They must have changed it recently because I had my reservations a month or more in advance when we were there in July.

Like Eeyore1954 said, the Spa at DI takes reservations months in advance. I scheduled a spa package in March for our WDW vacation in December. Good luck! :)

I definitely agree with everyone's suggestions to try the Disney Institute Spa. I called the GF Spa three times asking for a treatment and pricing list. I never received one. In just one call, I got all of theinfo I needed to book treatments at the Disney Institute Spa. The customer service was wonderful.

GEM,

I just looked through my entire pamphlet on the GF spa (we were just there in July) and the only reference I see to reservations, is that you need to make them as far in advance as possible. That sounds more like months to me and not 48 hours. That's too bad, because my daughter loved the facial and manicure she had done there. I hope you can find the same offering at another spa.

I made reservations for my fiance two weeks ago for our trip in November. There was no problem at all.

Well, it may be a brand new policy - but it does seem to be the case now. I've called three times on three separate days and talked to three separate people and they've all said the same thing - I can't book until 2 two days in advance. I guess I'll just try to figure out something else. I don't want to do the spa at the DI because it would be sort of a hassle. I am taking her to tea at the GF for her birthday, and I wanted to have her massage after that. Oh well.:(

I booked on the 13th of August for our November trip and held a spot. Must be a very new policy!

Something must have changed very recently, indeed. I booked my wife's spa appointment two weeks ago for an early October date. Also, when I requested a brochure be emailed to me, it took less than 24 hours to receive.

Has the GF Spa changed hands? Customer Service has been great the few times I've had to call.
