I am getting ready to make November ressies for the GF and this is the FIRST time we have stayed here AND MY DREAM RESORT!!! :goodvibes

I want a view of the water, and a nice balcony and I PREFER a view of the MK....but I wanna be kinda close to the main lobby...so for all you GF experts out there, WHAT SHOULD I REQUEST??? Which Building, etc....

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

The best building for a water and magic kingdom view would be the main building. If you can't do that boca chica is the next best. The main building is concierge and a bit expensive because of the concierge. Boca chica is a standard building. I was there in March and had the magic kingdom view plus water. It was in the main building and the best view ever!

You can see a map of the GF at allearsnet.com. They also have a lot of details for specific rooms. Sugar Loaf and Sago Cay are closest to the main building. But I stayed at the farthest building from the lobby (Boca Chica) and was still only a 1-2 minute walk. There really *isn't* a bad location at GF! :lovestruc

Well, unless you are reserving the Main Building concierge, you can't get all of that wrapped up into one room. The lagoon view rooms that have a direct view of the MK are all the furthest away from the main building. The closest lagoon view rooms to the main building are in the Big Pine Key building but they face the Polynesian and have no view of the MK. A good compromise might be to request a MK view room in Boca Chica. It does not have direct views of the MK, but you can see it to the left. Also, it is not too far from the main building.

Brian D......I cant help but to notice your quote under your name and I TOTALLY agree...we drive I75 from Alabama and I HATE THOSE SIGNS!!!!!!! They really need to do something with them instead of on the main interstate that takes you to WDW.

WELL SAID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Brian, that Boca Chica would be the closest to what you desire. Of course be sure you have booked a lagoon view room. :)

Then why do the FAQ threads say that the HARDEST view to get is the castle view??? If I pay the kind of $$ I am willing to pay to stay at the GF with a view....then I want the MK/castle view!!

So what EXACTLY do I ask for????

Oh man, Im so confused ITS MAKING MY HEAD SPIN!! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I have read the whole GF FAQ thread, I have been to allears, mousesavers, our laughing place, wdwinfo and disney.com sites and IM STILL CONFUSED!!

Lodge Tower water view, Turret rooms, several levels of concierge service....ETC ETC ETC...

Im sorry to be such a pain, but I just dont know what to do. I want to book my room ASAP and I just need some advice............

ok.....im going to calm down now and wait for some advice! :badpc: :badpc:

Part of the problem is that you cannot *reserve* a castle view. You can reserve a lagoon view and *request* a castle view, but it will not be guaranteed. So, which factor is more important to you? View, or proximity to the lobby? Keeping mind, again, that even the farthest building is a 2 minute walk across the beautiful courtyard.

ah-ha! :scratchin

Which is most important??? VIEW!

In that case, I would book a lagoon view and request a castle view. When you get there (or you can fax your request a few days early if you do that kind of thing), tell them that your dream is to have a castle view, and if you can have a castle view that's close to the main building, so much the better, but if only one is possible, you'd *really* love the castle view. Keeping in mind that they aren't really required to give you either, so be nice and smile big! ;) Good luck!

Conch Key supposedly has the best views of the Castle but there are relatively few OF them in that bldg.
Boca Chica has great views and more lagoon view rooms.
I would recommend booking a lagoon view room and requesting Conck Key OR Boca Chica

BamaTigger-- i just got back from the GF. my ressie was for a garden/marina view in Big Pine Key and i was upgraded to a lagoon/castle view in Boca Chica at check in. when checking in, don't be shy to ask if there are complementary upgrades available. it doesn't hurt to ask. if you want to ensure a water view, then book a lagoon view room. the resort grounds aren't sprawling. it is an easy walk from one bldg to another.

Another question...

In Boca Chica...do they have king beds or 2 queens?? Smoking or Non???

thank you! I feel so much better! :grouphug:

I do not know the answer to your King bed question. I know that most rooms will have 2 queens.
The honeymoon suites in the Main Bldg. (concierge) are the only rooms I know would have Kings ;)
Boca Chica is a non-smoking building; Big Pine Key is the smoking-optional building. Of course, there are evildoers who will smoke in Boca Chica :teeth: and once I was assigned a room that smelled so strongly of smoke I suspect someone the Mousekeeper had been puffing away minutes before we entered the room :p
If you want a smoking room, I believe you would be assigned to Big Pine Key~

BamaTigger, where in Alabama? We're in Columbus GA and are also familiar with "we Bare All" ! Only good thing I have to say about those billboards is that there is a gas station right next door to that "evil" place that has the best cajun boiled peanuts we have ever had! Anyway, Boca Chica, 8423 was our room in April, King bed, non smoking with a queen sleeper in case you have little ones with you. It had a view of Space mountain and the train station and we could see the castle through the trees. Also had a birds eye view of the EWP and Wishes each night. Great location, close to main bldg., right around the corner from the elevator, short walk to the boat dock.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO

I just made the ressies and ASKED for a LAGOON VIEW and REQUESTED a CASTLE VIEW!!!

Do yall think I need to call back and specify Boca Chica building????

I almost fell outta the chair....2200.00 for JUST THE ROOM!!!!!! 5 nites at 410.00!!!!

OH MAN....IM GONNA BE SAVING TIL THEN!!!!!!!

But it is my dream to stay there just ONE time....so IM READY WILLING AND ABLE to do what I have to!!!!
