GF Resort Studio Lagoon View

I am so excited. Check in is 30 days away Cannot wait for the Christmas decorations at the GF. So I have a resort studio Lagoon View. I know request are not guaranteed but can anyone give me an insight or review on one of the best view rooms here. I read that some do not have balconies. I would prefer a balcony and I know very little about the GF set up. Thank you so much

I am sooooo envious. What a lovely time to be there! We typically go that week but leave on Saturday. Some years the decorations haven't gone up before we left. Which resort when rotates from year to year, I was told. So, the decorations may be up when you arrive (earliest we've seen was Thursday-before-Thanksgiving) but might not be till the weekend.

This thread has a few photos of BPK lagoon views near the end of post #2. Scroll and scroll--when you see Christmas photos, the VGF1 & 2 view photos are coming soon.

You might post on it and ask what rooms people have had. Maybe some can give you details.

If your stay extends into Thanksgiving week, you'll definitely see the decorations. But, if you're leaving the weekend before as we have done, you may not get to see them. It's dec-roulette.

Unfortunately, we're not returning this year but in May next year. Thanks for your good wishes, anyway.

DH says that's likely a once-only because he realized after we booked how much HE will miss the holiday decorations. Which is funny, since seeing those has always been my big thrill. I think I've converted him.

The Gingerbread House sales counter will more than likely be open by your arrival. If you're a pin collector, be sure to look there for the GH special edition pin and ask upstairs at Mickey Mercantile for the GF Christmas pin. Those pins are really something, as lovely as the resort itself.

Thanks for the PIN idea. Do you know how much they are? I will put that in my notes. I think my grandson got a pin the last time we were there. It would be amazing if my husband converted but somehow he still doesn't see the magic. This trip is just a couple of days just me and my adult daughter.

Gosh, I don't recall precisely how much the GF Christmas pins have cost. They're toward the pricier end of the range, so I'm thinking the ones I bought last fall were $12-$14. What with price increases, who knows?

The GF pin has sometimes had two segments connected with a chain, and the GH one was an open-door style once--maybe twice? As you can tell, I've bought a few. They're definitely fancier than the typical pin.

I was so concerned about the possibility of not getting a balcony that I made villa w/ balcony my request for my late Nov. first stay in the resort studio building. I’ll only be in that building 2 nights before moving over to a 1 br. in the original building for 11 nights, so if my request isn’t filled it won’t be that big of a deal, though.
