anyone have any idea what price for a grand floridian room that would b able to see castle and view fireworks and if an ap discount would apply going in oct now. thks daveb

As of right now the GF doesn't have a dedicated MK view rate like the Poly and CR, so you would have to request it and remember it would only be a request.

I would assume (could be wrong) but you would need to book a lagoon view and then request and MK view. Someone can explain better I am sure if I am incorrect.

We stayed in a lagoon view room at the GF in June 2000 and had a castle view. We booked the lagoon view and requeted 3 things.

1. view of the castle
2. king bed
3. non-smoking

All our wishes were granted, but maybe being honeymooners had something to do with it? :confused3

I know we paid well over $350 per night in 2000. You're probably looking at $450+ with taxes and all per night. If there are codes or AP rates available during your stay, you will certainly be able to apply that discount. But everyone is still waiting for AP rates for June 4th and on...nothing has been mentioned about the fall.

We were in Sago Cay room 5441. This was a dormer room with a king bed.

The other posters are correct. You would need to book a lagoon view room and request an MK view, which may or may not be granted. I think they usually do try to grant them, but you should understand that there are a number of lagoon view rooms at the Grand Floridian that do NOT have a view of the castle.

The cost will depend on whether you are checking in before or after October 5. If you check in before October 5, it's value season, and if you check in on or after October 5, it's regular season, and it makes a considerable difference. The value season rate is $420 a night, or about $468 a night with tax. In regular season the rate would be $485 a night, or about $541 a night.

The only discount currently available for October would be AAA, which is a better discount in value season than regular season. So, if your dates are in value season it would be $398 with tax or, in regular season, about $486 with tax.

Im actually booked right now for GF from 10/18/06-10/21/06 (split stay). For a lagoon view room (we requested castle view) it was $540.77 per night with tax.I'm hoping for an AP rate but if not ill still keep my ressie.

Hey, how about that -- I was within 23 cents!

By the way, why don't you book an AAA rate? It would save you about $170 on the three nights. (It's available for lagoon, by the way -- I checked the aaa web site.) Even if you're not a member, you could join just for the discount and still save over $100, plus have a free year of AAA membership. You don't need to be a member to join -- just call up and have them apply the AAA rate. The join a few weeks before you go, unless a better discount like AP comes out, in which case you don't have to join.
