GF MK View or CL Sugar Loaf?

I currently have a 9 night stay at the GF in a MK View room with the 4/3 promo. It has always been my dream to have a MK View and this, in addition to my first ever stay at the GF, just thrills me! However, I just researched the new CL codes and found that I could upgrade to CL (Sugar Loaf) for only $43 more. Now, I already have all my ADR's, Cirque tickets, etc., so I don't really need the IPO, and we have the DxDP, so I don't see the need for the concierge food. Are there any more reasons this would be a better room than the one I currently have booked?

Since you have the deluxe dinning plan and had made your ADR, I say stick to the MK view. We had the MK view and waking up each morning seeing the castle and looking at the MK before going to bed each night was a magical vacation for me. It was great for me b/c when we stayed in GF my son was only 2 so at night my husband and I were able to watch the fireworks from the balcony while my son went to sleep.
Have a magical vacation

Pooh,

What building were you in? Any suggestions for a request?

If the MK view is a priority, I would recommend not booking Sugar Loaf. The views on the club level are request only and in Sugar Loaf, they are limited to marina and garden view. Some marina rooms will have a view of the fireworks, but you won't see the castle.

There are some good buildings to request for an MK view. It pretty much just depends on personal preference. Sago Cay is the furthest from the pools and beach, but close to Gasparillas and there's a little shortcut to the bus stop. Because of the location of Conch Key, castle views here tend to be centered right in your balcony door. It's closest to Narcoossee's and the boat launch. Boca Chica has some nice views, with the castle alittle more to the left. A plus though, is that you can see the electric water parade from here as well. It's closer to the pools.

Edited to add: Here's the live link. It might help you get your bearings on which building would be a good fit for you.

We stayed in Big Pine Key. I like the room b/c of the MK also it was at the end of the hallway so not alot of traffic noise and there was no connecting door to another room (I don't like connecting door to another room b/c you tend to hear noises). We did not have any request to which building.

I would also keep your Magic Kingdom View because I don't think it makes sense to stay Club Level and to have the Dining Plan, because it's to much food if you want to take advantage of what they have in the lounge.

I've stayed in every building at the GF over the years and I agree with everyone else - keep your MK view :thumbsup2 You said it yourself - it's always been your dream to have an MK view :cloud9: You will love it! Stock your fridge with some of your favorite snacks and beverages to enjoy on your balcony, while you enjoy your magical view :wizard: Have fun!

P.S. I would request Boca Chica or Conch Key :flower3:

Great advice.

BTW, we've been able to see the Electrical Water Pageant in all its glory from our TPV room in Conch Key. I think they position it out far enough and at an angle that affords views of it from Conch Key, Boca Chica and Big Pine Key...possibly Sago as well.

I agree with the PPs, keep your TPV! You've stated it is a dream to stay in a TPV room, you have already made all your dining reservations, and have the DxDP, there really is not that much to gain by paying more for a SL room. There is the on-site planning assistance, and the added security of a keyed building, but no theme park views, and for your first GF stay, I think you will be very happy with that view!princess:

Good luck, and have a wonderful vacation!

On our first trip to the GF, we had a fabulous corner room in Boca Chica with a great view of the castle, the nightly fireworks, the EWP, the Poly, the CR, and the lagoon. It was wonderful...:cloud9:

Our 2nd trip, we stayed in Sugar Loaf. We loved the lounge area (it was never crowded, but then, it was off-season). We loved having the snacks and drinks available all day. And the concierge CMs were wonderful!:goodvibes We missed watching the fireworks and the EWP from our balcony each night, and the views of the lagoon in general.

On our next trip, we decided that we would choose the view over staying in Sugar Loaf -- we really wanted that castle view. So I booked it and requested Boca Chica, and we were so happy with our room. Even from the 1st floor, we could watch the EWP and fireworks at night. I wasn't feeling well one day, and my DM and I spent the day in our room -- and I was so glad I had that lovely view and balcony!!!:)

If you really want that view, then don't book SL, since there is no chance that you will see the castle from your room. I guess you have to decide which is more important to you (tough decision, I know).:)
