I am sure I am not alone in this, this is our 6th year doing Marathon Weekend next January, and we decided to book a 2 bedroom this year, our first time trying to book anything larger than a 1 bedroom, our points are at different resorts which is great for studios and 1 bedrooms but means I pretty much have to use 7 months for anything larger (which is fine, it took 10 years to get to wanting to book anything this large).

At 7 months I tried for Copper Creek which showed availability at 7:55 am, but I didn't click fast enough i guess. Today I was able to get Friday-Monday, and I already booked a 2bedroom at OKW and SSR for wednesday, and wait listed (and will stalk) for thursday.

However, a new option has presented itself. a GF Grand Villa is open for thursday night. I am SOOO incredibly tempted by this. I do have the points, it would take almost every single one I have left (including borrowing), which slightly bothers me... but the real question is is it worth it for ONE night? Funny I remember the day when I wished I had 112 points total and now I am considering blowing it for one night.

Also, I keep trying to tell myself probably SSR or OKW or even WL (Copper Creek) will open up between now and then and that it would be such a pain to switch resorts three times. Still again.. its tempting.
(By the way, we have a total of 6 adults staying, including ourselves)

Any opinions?

GV's are nice but you'll probably at best get into it at 4PM and have to check out at 11am. I understand the temptation but I'd at least want a couple of nights.

IMO, it would not be worth spending all of those points for a single night. You can't get into the villa (most likely) before 4 PM and perhaps even later. And you will need to be out by 11 AM the following day. It just doesn't give you much time to enjoy the villa and the resort. If you had a boatload of banked points that HAD to be used, it would be a different story. But to use every point and borrow even more? Not for me. YMMV

Thanks for the dose of sanity I needed, you are absolutely right, and I was thinking about that check in at 4pm thing having been hit by that once or twice (usually have gotten in around 1-2 pm, but a few times its taken until 4), thank goodness a 1 bedroom at SSR became available for that thursday so no matter what I have a place to sleep.

IMO split stays less than 3 nights are not worth the move and disruption.
