Hey everyone, I have never been lucky enough to stay at the GF, always wanted to and now after a bit of pixie dust, our family will be there in three short weeks (well probably more like loooong weeks than short when waiting to go). Can someone make a suggestion on what building is the best to stay in when staying in a standard garden view? I would like to stay as close as possible to the main building due to my back (I have a herniated disc in my back and neck) and would like the least amount of walking if possible. However, I would like to hear everyone's opinion on what they think of all the buildings. I would sacrafice walking a little extra so that my family will have a great experience at this resort (who knows when we'll be lucky enough to stay here again!).

Also, are there any new pictures of the rooms (I know about Deb's and the ones here, but am looking for different ones, maybe with the garden view and the rooms).

Thanks for all your help!!

Although there are many buildings, nothing is too far away from the main building. I would suggest Sago Cay or Conch Key. Sago is VERY close to Gasparilla's (the 24 hour snack place) and Conch is very close to the boat that takes you to the MK. But you really can't go wrong with any of the buildings. Your other choices (with garden views) are Boca Chica and Big Pine Key. I would think that Big Pine is the furthest, but I've only stayed in Conch and Sago so I don't know for sure.

My favorite GV room is Sago Cay marina side. I haven't stayed there but I think Conch Key would be about the same view. Very nice view, close to Gasparillas and close to seating area in front of marina to watch the fireworks.

If you want to be close to the main building, the beach, and the new pool, your best bet is Big Pine Key. The rooms there that end in 02, 04, 06, and 08, and 10 are GV rooms at the end of the building nearest the main building and the beach. We've stayed in 9306 and it had a great view of the original pool. Big Pine Key rooms are done in the Alice in Wonderland theme.

We had a marina view in Conch Key, it was very nice. We could see part of the lagoon and the monorail in the distance.

We were in Conch Key two weeks ago and had a view of the marina and the lake. This was our room:

And this was the view from our 2nd floor balcony (looking slightly towards the left - straight out was pretty much the end of the other building & monorail track):

WOW!! Love the pictures, thank you!

Well, it looks like we can't go wrong I suppose no matter where they put us! I may just request a room that is closet to the main building, not caring which building we are in.

Thanks for all your help, I cannot wait to get there, I truly don't care where they put us, I would be satisfied anywhere in the Kingdom :flower:

Oh one more question, where do you go to watch the fireworks and see the castle, is that on the beach or the marina?

That would be the marina. You can also see Wishes well from the pier where you catch the launches to the Polynesian and MK. It is right by Narcoossee's.

Have fun!

The pier's also the perfect place to watch the Electrical Water Pageant. And Narcoossee's is right outside Conch Key. :goodvibes
