Anyone have any photos of the restaurant and/or the tables, food, tea, etc...

Also, any reviews to share about this place?

I'm thinking about afternoon tea (Grand Tea Option) for a party of 18 for a wedding reception. I'm not interested in renting out the whole place as a private event-just interested in a party of 18 during regular hours.

I would love to see what this place looks like, get a good idea of the atmosphere, food (especially the tea sandwiches), etc...

TIA!

Go to the allears.net website; there they post photos and menus of each restaurant.

We were there once a few years back and our service and meal were terrible. However, our waiter was brand new and was having trouble getting the food out all at once and kept forgetting things. I'm sure that was a fluke.

Thanks-I actually tried looking there, but the photo didnt really show much of what it looked like. I found a few others online, but not much with views of the actual place and display of what the food looks like.

A friend and I had tea here back in August. I didn't take many pictures here (and sadly none that include the food), but I'll share the few that I have: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9068682@N02/tags/gardenviewtealounge/

We found the lounge to be quiet and lovely. I'm not much of a tea drinker so I just had a brandy alexander or two and scones (which were yummy), but my friend did a full tea and enjoyed herself. We were there at around 2 pm in August and the place was nearly empty so I'm not sure how typical our experience was, but we found the service to be pretty good. We noticed at least three people who were there (not all in one party) celebrating birthdays and it seemed like the wait staff remembered that and tried to make these ladies feel special, so it might not be a bad idea for a reception.

Hope that helps!

My DD(26) and I just enjoyed the High Tea last month and it was wonderful.
They should be able to accomodate 18 if you call ahead. It's lovely there and
the day we had our tea there was a wedding party getting their pictures taken
just outside by the pool. Lovely. :goodvibes :lovestruc

I love the tea sandwich selection from there thats in the Grand tea. The Pear and gorgonzola I think it is tastes like heaven. Also the cheese plate (not included in the tea) is amazing and definately worth sharing around a few of you (far too much for 1 with the tea but I do always attempt it lol)

Oh and Formosa Ooolong tea is still my fave. Try a different one each time and always end up reverting back to this one
