GF fans...what is this pillow sham worth to you?

Last week I was idly surfing mousesurplus .com and I saw a pillow sham from the grand floridian. It has the lyrics of "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" on it. I bid on it, because I like that song, but it went for $41. Mind you, it is an empty sham--no pillow in it.
So immediately another one was on the market. I bid on that one also. I figured $20 was a good price (meaning I don't want it more than that). I was outbid with 5 minutes left in the auction--but the funnier thing is, two people were in a bidding war that last 5 minutes and it went for $50!
Now another one is on. I bid $10 for it yesterday. This morning, with 2 days left, I had been outbid. I went up to $20 again, but still outbid.
Am I missing something? They aren't MADE of gold, they are just gold colored--and the way it is going, as soon as one auction ends, another one appears. There must have been a GF rehab and mousesurplus got the extra bedding. I can't see paying $50 for a pillow sham!

There is indeed a rehab going on and others have reported looking for certain room number plaques as well. If it gives you a little taste of your time at WDW, then I guess it's the same as buying a pricier souvenier.

I would double check that it's only a sham. I'm nearly positive that it's actually the full throw pillow. At one time you could purchase them in the gift shop for around $50.

I was actually watching a few over the summer and they went for well over $100!!! Crazy. This one did have the pillow insert in it, though. What a deal.:rotfl:

When we were at the GF over the summer I checked...the gold pillows sell NEW in the Sandy Cove Gift Shop for $80 or $85....not exactly sure because I gagged at the price and thought that was kinda steep. They are pretty, but not THAT pretty. Although I might buy one at the GF next month just because...and maybe in 5 years I can sell it for $200, haha. The tea cup pillows are $65 NEW.

I have seen some things sell for crazy prices on Ebay, though, so not too surprised. ;)

I did not know mousesurplus was even still around. I will have to check it out. :rotfl2: ( I do have an armoire in one bedroom from WL. :woohoo: )
No way would I pay that much for a pillow sham -- used yet. :confused3

I bought one of those pillows for my mom at the GF gift shop. It cost $80 and while that is expensive, I wanted to do it for her. The night before my trip she told me that her breast cancer had returned and she was very much on my mind. That pillow was the perfect gift.

Why would you place a bid with days to go ? This only gives others a chance to outbid you and run up the price. If I see what I'm interested in, I watch the time left and wait for the last 5 minutes for the price and with 30 seconds to go, place my bid with a max I'll go. Either you get it for that one bid or are out bid by someone willing to go with a higher bid. Either way, you only place the one bid with a max and you know in 30 seconds if you win. I've seen people in the bid history place bids over their own bids. Watch the shipping, add that to what you want to pay, place that bid and let it auto bid till it reaches your max or no one bids againts you. I have also watched people bid and with shipping pay more than what you would pay in a store, go figure.

For $50, I'll embroider a set of them for you! LOL!!!
