GF Experts: Please help with directions on resort map!

Hi, GF Experts!

I was looking at the GF resort map - Click Here - because I'm trying to make the best choice in room location. We've received such wonderful advice here!

My question is this: Are the Wishes fireworks and castle views located straight East on the map or South? or Southeast?

The fireworks are directly NORTHEAST on the map. The dock (#3) and Narcoosee's jut out into the lagoon straight out in the direction of the Magic Kingdom. The Marina's short end faces out as does Conch Key...they all look out toward Cinderella's Castle.

One more question: It's hard to guage distances on the map. Is Conch Key extremely far from the Main Bldg? It looks like a few blocks, maybe?

Maybe a 3 minute walk...
Unless you have a physical problem with walking don't worry at all! The grounds are not vast and the walk is very pleasant. You will LOVE it~

...we stayed in Conch and had a spectacular view of the castle and fireworks. Make sure you request a Magic Kingdom view! It's a lovely walk to the main building, and not bad at all. Four minutes or less, depending on your speed. If you stay at Conch, take the monorail TO the MK and take the boat back. It practically drops you at your door.

You can also have an exceptional view of the fireworks from the marina dock, and the beach.

It is so hard to tell the distances between places on the resort maps! I appreciate the clarification.

Thank God, none of us has a physical disability that would make a longer walk difficult. I just get tired even thinking about walking miles in the parks, then when you finally get back to the resort and are ready to drop, you have another long walk ahead of you. Sounds like Conch Key would be a very pleasant stroll and I LOVE the idea of taking the monorail in and getting dropped off at the dock. Great!

I am going to assume you have a lagoon view booked since you are asking about Fireworks views. All the lagoon view rooms are very nice, just FYI that Conch and Sago have fewer MK views than other buildings due to the placement of the building also some of these rooms are suites which makes even fewer lagoon rooms. Only the rooms on the end of the building have a MK view, where as Boca Chica has one entire side of the building facing the lagoon.

SagoCay and ConchKey have fewer rooms that have a dead on view of the MK, but pretty much all their lagoon views can see the castle while sitting on the balcony. I know you want to make this a wonderful vacation for your family, just don't get too obssessive in your planning. If you're booking lagoon view, simply ask them to put an MK view on your request. If you're booking garden, ask for SagoCay marina, or a corner room. When you arrive, just ask the CM at the desk about the view. They know the resort and will try to accomodate you the best that they can. There are no bad views at the GF and many places around the resort to see the castle, the fireworks and the electric water parade. Take a deep breath and relax.
