My trip is the 2nd week of August. Going with my girls (almost 16 year old twins) and my niece (28). Currently booked at the Poly CL for 7 nights. This is my girls 8th trip but due to their sports 1st trip in 4-5 years. Its my niece's 2nd trip but she was sick in bed her 1st trip. So I'm counting it as her 1st.

Its going to be hot so we plan on coming back in the afternoons to sit by the pool and then hitting a park at night.

We got an AWESOME rate from our TA for the Poly CL. With Disney's new deal the GF CL would be $700 more and a regular room the same price as Poly CL. I LOVE the GF have stayed CL main building and regular rooms. Never stayed at the Poly. My one daughter thinks the Poly may be fun the other is like me loves the GF and my niece just wants to go and would stay anywhere.

I think I really need to do CL because I like being able to walk down the hall grab a coffee to drink while I'm getting ready and then having a light breakfast before we head out. If we are are poolside in the afternoon it is nice for the kids to be able to grab soda and me and my niece wine/beer (CM's have always put it in to go cups for the pool). But is is worth $700...

My concern is that the Poly will be crowded and the pool overrun with kids. Hey it is Disney and everyone is a kid a Disney, but you know what I mean. I just don't want to end up thinking $700 would have been so much better spent to be able to get pool chairs and to be able to relax by the pool.

I have the GF on hold for 2 more days......

This is tough! One question--is the $700 more for main building at GF or Sugarloaf?

I love Poly CL. For less than $700, you could reserve one of the covered areas at the Oasis pool for the afternoons which would guarantee you a lovely place to relax by the quiet pool--you can call now and reserve them. The quick service place by that pool is good too and has a lot of shaded seating and a refillable mug station. If you want to be out by the big pool at Poly, it could be crowded. We were there last July and we did not have trouble getting a couple of chairs when we wanted them even though it was sometimes pretty crowded.

I guess the real question, is do you have the money? I have been every resort in deluxe and moderate, and every villa, and AoA one night and never do a value again. I have been to all club levels. Value is what you want, even with 5 or us, the value is not in the food. To me the value is not in the staff either and the room is never different than a regular room, unless you are in a suite. To us the value is in what we will do on vacation. When it comes to our kids now in there 20's there is no value in club level, they usually sleep late and miss breakfast, they stay in the parks all day and don't want to come back. When DGD was little the value was a quiet place for us to relax as she slept in carriage or one of us in room while others got to sit and relax. At the poly some of the value is at the lounge at night you can watch the fireworks. As a just me and him, the value is well worth it, we take advantage of what it has to offer, we have a glass of wine each afternoon, we have tea at GF rather than pay for tea in the garden room, we have our coffee and a breakfast, we do an appetizer since we eat less as we get older we usually only need one meal a day out. We like the quietness of the lounge, the friendly ness of the staff, the expedited check in. We find value in all of that.

So your choices, Poly CL, GF CL or GF GV. If you have already stayed GF CL and regular room, I would do Poly CL. I personally love Poly CL over the GF CL. They are both nice, and I would do either one any time. So I look more for what our vacation is meaning at the time, in May we will do GF CL and get married. If we were not, I probably would pick Poly. They definately have a different Vibe. I last June did not find Poly pools to crowded, nothing at all like BC. We went to the pool every day and never empty we did not find it a burden and to crowded. The lounge is bigger and at times is crowded, but since it is more than one level it is not bad. Since we are now older, we like to relax and actually like the lounge to find others who do club level like us, quiet place to sit, relax and meet new people at times.

So if it is going to save you some money, and you never did it before, and your niece could care less and your daughters think it would be fun, I definately would go poly. You won't be missing anything and you might find a new favorite resort.

I'd stick with Poly CL since you've never stayed there before. The Poly is our favorite resort and while we haven't tried CL yet, I am always reading great things about it. The GF is a nice resort (it runs a close second to the Poly for me), but the Poly is great as well. With that said, I think the Poly is worth a try (especially with a great deal). Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.
