GF Cafe or Kona Cafe, Which do you like better and why? Would you do both in a 8 day vacation on the dining plan or would you just do one? Which one and why?

TIA,

Loralie

Quite honestly, if it is breakfast you are looking for, I think there are much better options than both of those for the same price.

Personally, I would prefer the Kona over the GF. The coffee at the Kona is supposed to be the best on Disney grounds and I prefer the Polynesian setting over the Victorian setting of the GF.

Then again, you're in Disney, so its tough to go wrong.

I personally prefer Kona Cafe for lunch or dinner since it has some asian inspired dishes, while GF Cafe is more conventional in its offerings. I think GF Cafe has decent food so if the menu is more to your liking then go there. I can see going to both place during one trip to the mouse house.

Kona Cafe for breakfast is one of our iron-clad must-dos, every trip. The coffee IS wonderful (if you like your strong and flavorful), the atmosphere is lovely, and we've only had incredible things to eat. We try to eat breakfast here more than once, actually, each trip.

Haven't done GF breakfast yet, but it's on the to-do list! We love to start our WDW days with a hearty breakfast, so I personally would say it would be great to work them both in on the same trip.

We are also DDP fans, and I'll just say that you get more bang for your buck using the plan for meals other than breakfast, unless you are doing a character breakfast. I'd use those TS credits at lunch or dinner!

Have a great trip!

Kona Cafe also has Tonga Toast for breakfast. You can't beat that!

We like both places alot! The settings are very different as is the food.

The GF cafe is so pretty. We love to sit by the window and look out over the beautiful grounds. The food is American fare and very good.

Kona can be noiser, but the food is excellent. The decor is nothing great, but the surroundings are nice. Kids enjoy watching the monorail right outside the window.

I say check the menus .. and see which appeals. If poosible, try both.

If you are looking for a great breakfast, may I suggest Spoodles.

definately Kona -
DS & I did both in Aug and Id definately we enjoyed Kona better
