Anyone know if the free cocoa is gf, and if there are gf cookies available anywhere?

I can't answer your question specifically, but I'm sure WDW special diets can.

About 7 years ago we went to MVMCP with our peanut- and tree nut-allergic daughter. I remember that I contacted special diets (or whatever it was called then) and was easily able to get an ingredient listing for the hot cocoa and cookies that were given out during this event.

As your trip approaches, I'd email them and ask. I'm sure they can help.

I recall seeing other threads way back on the DISabilities boards about gluten free and MVMCP. I think they give out French meadow brownies for GF folks, if you ask. I don't recall hearing anything about the cocoa. I'd love to find out before I go this year to the party. This will be my first time going GF/CF. :thumbsup2

I don't recall what my husband did about the cocoa but he just went told the CM at the counter passing out the cookies that he needed gluten free and they gave him several packages of gluten free cookies/brownies ( can't remember which it was right now).

Definitely check with special diets, because things do change. But in 2009 the cocoa was not g-f. They did offer apple juice and g-f cookies however.

My son is both GF and CF (dairy). We did MVMCP in '09 and DL's x-mas tour last year. I don't remember what he was offered in "09 (apples for sure, but maybe the brownie). Last year we brought our own Gingerbread man cookies which looked/tasted every bit as good/better than the regular wheat flour cookies served on that tour. It has always been important to us to make sure he has had a desssert/snack option nearly equatable or to him, desireable, as the rest of the family. We even flew out to California last Dec. and the cookies survived just fine.

Also, now that Babycakes is open in DTD they may have something extra special to offfer as well.

good luck and enjoy the party--I sure wish I was going this year!
