Who has been to the afternoon tea at the GF? Was it good and worth the price and time? :D

We went a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We had the grand tea, which included a glass of sparkling wine, tea sandwiches, scones with raspberry jam and cream, and a dessert which I can not recall, and of course our choice of tea.
It was very relaxing, a nice way to spend an afternoon, we did this as a late lunch as we were going to the Hoopdedo Revue at the 9:30 show and it was filling and lasted us to dinner time.

We went a few weeks ago and it was ok. I don't really think that it worth the price, although we do plan to go back in Jan. We will probably just get tea & scones a la carte then. The sandwiches were rather dry, not very good. The was the first time we ever had tea at GF. On previous occassions we had it at Rose & Crown and I really preferred it there. Actually, yesterday I was going through some things and found a tea service menu from Rose & Crown from 7 yrs. ago and the price then was $9.95 and really included more than the $17.50 version at GF now. I think that's a pretty steep price increase for tea and sandwiches. Anyway, I wouldn't go for the whole tea service again at that price. Wish they would still serve it Rose & Crown.

We love it. It is a nice relaxing time.Usually do it on short notice Never had a problem getting in until this past trip.Tried to get in on 2 different days and they were booked solid. The CM said 2 large groups had it booked. Should have known better. Have fun if you decide to go.:)

we went last month (2 females) and it was pretty good. It was nice to experience but I don't think I would go back. The food was good but we both felt a little underdressed and uncomfortable.

I was there with a friend on Friday 11/8 and it was nice - definitely something I'd do again. I had on jeans and did not feel under-dressed. But, I don't think I'd order the Tea for Two again, as the sandwiches were dry and uninspired - I thought. The scones were out of this world and the trifle was excellent too. I think that if I go back I will order a la carte and just get the very best items.

I did this last year with a large group during the DIS convemtion. It was so fun It was nice doing it with such a group and it was such a girlie thing to do. Most people had shorts or jeans and we did not feel underdressed. (It may have had something to do with the tiaras we were wearing ;))

I am doing it again this year and can't wait. Last year we had to get a set menu because of the size fo the group. This year will be ala carte. I will definately be after the scones. Yummmmmm!

It is definately a snack kind of thing. Not enough for a meal (IMHO) BUt the experience is worth it.

I'm not a light eater and the tea for 2 filled my mother and I both up. I found the sandwiches very good and not dry at all. I plan to go again when we return to WDW

Thanks for the replies! I think that we will try it. I love tea and have always wanted to try an afternoon tea somewhere. I was hoping that it would be magical like many things at Disney.:D
