My mom and I are thinking of going to the Afternoon Tea at the GF, but we really want to take my oldest DD who will be a few days away from 7 when we go. She LOVES getting dressed up and acting "grown-up" and is typically well-behaved. (Especially when separated from her brother ;) ) Has anyone been recently? Would she have a good time? Thanks!

I haven't been there recently, but I took my husband AND two sons there in May of 2001. My sons were 13 and 10 years old at the time. They have a children's version of the "tea" complete with their "special dark tea" which is really chocolate milk. :p It's a pretty little place, and the waitress we had was very nice and helpful when we were picking our selections. I think your daughter would love it! :)

By all means, take your daughter. I'm sure she will have a great time. We did this last June and my worry was about my 80 year old DH but he behaved very well and loved it. He has already requested that we do this again.

Definitely take your daughter and you will both have a great time. When we went in May we took our 4 yo DD and 2 yo DS and they were fine and it was fun for all of us.

While I enjoyed the afternoon tea, my then 9 year-old went to the children's tea (usually with the Mad Hatter and Alice, but Alice was busy in the rabbit hole so Belle (my daughter's favorite) was there). She loved it! Lot's of fun with other children, character's and the CM's...

Thanks for all the replies! Mom and I wanted to do something special with just my oldest DD since our trip will be very close to her birthday. I knew there was a children's tea, but I wanted something for the three of us. It sounds like the Afternoon tea will be perfect.:)

We brought our 8 year old and she had a "grand" time. The whole time she talked with an English accent and held her pinky in the air while drinking her "tea". She was very well behaved. It wasn't very crowded when we went.

I say bring her. It was very fun. It is a nice option if you do not want to do the kids tea. (My DDs already have an American Girl doll and didn't need the Disney doll.)
