Geyser Point vs Three Bridges

Whichever you choose, know that after the sun sets, there’s not much to look at from either location, though an argument could be made for the lighted buildings at CSR from TB. Apart from far distant fireworks, many obscured by trees, you’ll be looking at pretty much pitch blackness from GP.

Now that’s something to consider. I plan on dining at Citricos on my last night, then head back to MK for rides and fireworks, so maybe I don’t need to go to GP specifically for that.

Thank you!

It depends on the MK firework schedule - check the app to be sure. Keep in mind, while you can definitely see the fireworks, it's a high view over the trees. This isn't like sitting on the beach at the Poly or a theme park view room at the Contemporary. Still, it is a lovely way to end the night. We stay at Wilderness Lodge a lot as our DVC home resort is Copper Creek and we adore eating and hanging out at GP. We love the views - it's like not even being at a theme park - so peaceful. And if you go for lunch, it's rarely crowded (hint: it's just a short, lovely boat ride from MK if you need a break mid-day).

As for the burger debate, I think both of them are good, with maybe giving the nod to Three Bridges by a tiny bit. The food options in general are definitely better at TB over GP as well. But what GP does have, is usually really good. One thing that I really liked about TB over GP was the drinks. GP's cocktails are basically your typical fruity, sweet pool bar drinks. A lot of people love that, but they aren't our thing and the wine and beer selection is limited. TB has some really interesting wines, fun cocktails and some really good sangria.

The current fireworks show at MK is 8:15, but of course it’s darker now at that time than it would be in May.

Lunch would be a fabulous option. I currently plan on lunch at Steakhouse 71 on my MK day, but if I move things around, I could do this. I do love the idea of ending a night there.

I don’t really drink, so that’s not a factor. The best drink I had at WDW in November - and one I can’t forget- was some sort of pineapple - orange - guava juice concoction called Island Sunset …without the tequila - at Smiling Crocodile at AK.

I will manage to get to GP this trip, whether for lunch, dinner or just pie, lol.

Thank you !!?

We have not been impressed with GP, personally, and I won't eat there again unless at the bar. I hate their seating and the floor is always dirty. I'm really weird about clean spaces to dine in, though... The ducks had left presents on the floor and no one cleaned it up - it was so gross.

Food is okay, I guess. Not great. Service is hit and miss (better at the bar). The view sounds better than it is in person

Three Bridges has been on our list but it's a pain to get to so we haven't been yet! Need to soon.

Let us know about the pie. We stay at the WL twice each year and eat at GP often. I’ve never heard the pie is a “thing”. The bison burger - yes, I never even knew they served pie! If you want to see fireworks, depending on where you’re seated, you’ll probably have to get up and go outside of GP to really see them. If you are on the lake side section of GP, you will be able to easily see the ELP. Enjoy!

Pain because of a long bus ride? It is worth it!

I’m not sure it’s a thing, but I love homemade pie, so if those who love GP recommended it, that would be a big point in its favor. I also always get dessert, lol - so yeah, yum! One reason I want to try the burger is the Marionberry sauce. It sounds so interesting and unique!

I wanted to go to GP even before I knew about the fireworks. Would I go outside it to see them? Not sure as I intend to see them at MK …If I could see them from my seat, then it would be fantastic. I’d love to be on the lakeside - I love being by the water!

I will post a review - thanks!

*I’ll bet Wilderness Lodge is a spectacular place to stay

If it’s just the two of us, we usually sit at the bar. The ducks can be aggressive. It can be very nice at lunch, but we also enjoy it in the evenings. We did take-out on our last trip in mid-September and that worked well (minus the ambience, but our team was on Sunday Night Football :goodvibes and DH preferred watching in our room). Many folks had a similar idea and the place was hopping.

I sometimes sit at bars when the wait for a table is too long or I just want to go in and out...it’s nice that there is that option

I’m glad 11 days to figure this out, lol

Thanks!

I’ve been to Geyser Point several times in the past year, and while I see they have “seasonal pie” on the menu, I don’t remember any server ever mentioning it and I know I had dessert a couple times.

Looks like I’ll have to do a little dessert research.....!

GP is similar to TB, it is covered but open on the sides. There may be a few seats where you can see the fireworks, but literally all you have to do is go out of GP on the lake side and face the direction of the Contemporary, and you will see the higher fireworks. My favorite is the Electrical Water Pageant, brings back memories from childhood. It passes right by, and again, if you are seated on the lake side of GP, you will be able to see it from your seat. And I will have to look into the pie!

Oh, that’s great - nice and easy ! It sounds wonderful !

Thank you, lol - clearly I’m obsessed !

I went in November and it was Key Lime. It was a "50th Celebration" dessert so it may change out once that ends. I was hoping for something a little more fitting of the Lodge and the season, but it was still good.

Thanks! I imagine May will be a fruit pie - maybe strawberry rhubarb or something like that. I’ll post my review afterwards!
