Looking for a quick bite before flying home from our December trip. Since we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, I want to stay close. We will be headed to DS for lunch at Homecomin', but I don't want to stay too late there and chance missing DME. Last October, I had the crab cake sandwich at GP and loved it, and it was nice sitting by the lake before leaving. But the weather then was amazing. Not sure about December weather since it's so iffy. Do they enclose GP during the winter if it gets cold?

We were there last December. We arrived at the WL early for a Artist Point dinner and went down to Geyser Point for a drink. It was still light out but was getting toward dark when we left after our drinks. It was a beautiful evening sitting under cover but open to the air on the sides. It was a very memorable evening.

We ate there in December. Orlando was experiencing a cold spell and the temperature was just above freezing. Geyser Point was open. There was no enclosing it. We had winter coats (having flown down from winter) so w eren't too cold, but it was still quite cold, and the wind coming off the lake did not help.

Obviously that is among the worst cases, as the last day of our stay it was back up to normal seasonal temps and much more enjoyable temp-wise.

I thought I had read an article about it having a way to enclose it. Maybe that was supposed to be the case, but they cut it out before finishing it. I guess if it was really cold we could always grab a sandwich and take it back into the lobby?

All a personal suggestion? Book (as in ADR), Whispering Canyon. GP no longer offers any breakfast. We suspect any LUNCH will soon vanish. GP is a dud. One day? it may not be. Today is not that day.

DVC owners - 12 years, we travel 2x per year... All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.
We are doing WCC for dinner the night before. Our DME bus will leave around 6:00 that night so we need something quick there at the resort. I actually loved the crab cake sandwich. My only concern is I don't want to eat outside if it's cold.
