If we took bus to MK then boat over to WL before the Christmas party at MK one day to see decorations - how long a wait do you think for Geyser Point for 4 people? More than 30 minutes? We'd probably be aiming for around 3:30. Want to arrive to the party around 5, miss the 4pm crowds. :) This would most likely be on a Thursday.

At that time of day I can't imagine the wait would even be 30 minutes.

If it is a warmish day do NOT take the boat from MK to WL. Take the air conditioned bus, yes they run a bus too. Last Dec I took a boat in the afternoon on a warmish day from MK to WL to see the Xmas decor and it was the hottest, stuffiest, most miserable boat ride of my WDW existence. I was absolutely drenched in sweat by the time we arrived to WL.

The key to boat transportation in the heat is to sit outside on the friendship-style boats - and pick the side away from the sun...you get a constant breeze when in motion on the lake. The open canopy boats are much better as they all get a breeze. I hate sitting inside on the friendship style ones - even with an attempt at AC, it just gets overwhelmed by the people and open doors. But if you sit outside and pick the wrong side where the sun is on you the entire way, it can get pretty miserable.

For Geyser, 3:30pm even during a crowded park time, waits should be under 30 min.

Agree with others on the timing. FYI, you can request a table on the MDE app once you're at/near WL so no need to head straight to Geyser Point until you get the notification. In case you wanted to use that time to check out the lobby, shops etc.
