Getting your drink on in the most magical place on earth

I love LaCava, my most favorite place to drink in all the World. I usually just drop in for a margarita to go, but when DD leaves the nest I'll be spending a good couple hours there on Epcot day!

BTW, I do think they are pretty generous with their pour! :thumbsup2

LaCava is great place to get a margarita with chips and queso. The Dawa Bar next to Tusker House also makes a African Margarita that I liked even better !

La Cava does make large batches of the Avo Margarita and recently DD received one that contained very little tequila. The server used a straw to sample it and then had the bartender make her a very strong replacement. They were very nice about it as it probably happens often as they make full blenders of Avo Margaritas at one time - it's very popular!

I've only been in the last two years, they had green for wimps (me) and orange which is more intense. That's it. On Topic. i bought some JD on the flight from the UK and mixed it with the energy drink from the food court. No one knows what's in your mug :-)

Whoa. Thanks :/

Let's get back to the Norway thing. You can buy vodka there??
What other countries do that?

I don't know of other countries that sell anything more than wine.

Just so you and others know - you have to purchase at least three hours before you plan to leave the park. For obvious reasons you cannot just buy a bottle of vodka and tote it around Epcot, so they ship it to package pick up at the park exit. If you're lucky, nice Norwegian CMs will write happy greetings on your package.

Can you get it sent to your room?

Do they even still do that? It's been a while since we've stayed onsite, and I know they used to send purchases made in the parks to your room. I guess I just ***-u-med they still did it!

don't know about other countries, once I discovered Norway, I was set.

Seriously, so glad other people can enjoy this now ... I had no clue either until just randomly passing through the gift shop ... and I thought, well maybe I will buy a bottle as an over priced souvenir ... and then I saw the price ... and then I was all like, maybe I will buy 2 to last us the rest of the trip !!!

Wow! I've learned a few things this morning! Now I'm making a list of drinks to try......avocado margarita, antioxidant cocktail, a bar next to Tusker House! I still have my passport for the Food and Wine Festival a few years ago. Do they do the stamps when the F&W is not happening?

Not sure, heard it's not far. But do know people take their empty rolling suitcases with them....

If you exit the Boardwalk parking lot, the Hess station is directly across the street. It is a super easy walk

Can you confirm the size and price of those bottles? I know the 40 oz. for $20 someone mentioned is not accurate.

I believe I must pay homage to the Lapu Lapu at the Poly as well. I had ONE while waiting for our table at Kona and have to be honest, have no real recollection of the rest of the meal. Wowzers!!!!

Thanks! I will take your advice :thumbsup2

In staying true to the thread theme....looks like the dinner shows have an all you can drink policy :cool1:

Anyone know how the Sangria is?

It tastes pretty good, but isn't very strong. Honestly tastes more like a kid's fruit punch. I usually stick with the draft beer, it is very cold!

There is nothing wrong with making the trip a little more magical with some yummy adult beverages. My DH and I always have a drink with each sit down meal and then of course there is EPCOT. He still hasn't been able to make it around to all of the countries because he tends to get a few from some of his favorite spots, mainly England. I'm not the beer drinker but there is always something yummy to try. Especially the frozen ones on a nice hot day..

Question, we are staying at BC for the first time which has my DH very happy to be so close to all the yummy beers from around the world. Are we able to walk out of EPCOT with our drinks to walk back to BC or do we need to ensure we have a cup to store it in?

No, you can't unfortunately. One of the bartenders explained to me that every "area" (different parks and resorts) has to have its own liquor license so they don't allow you to take them. It's the same way at Universal with City Walk and the 2 parks.

We always bring a 12-24 pack of beer to the room and a bottle of wine. Put it on the cart with all our other luggage and have the bellman bring it to the room. We 9/10 times end up throwing it away but it's nice to have something to drink in the room if you don't feel like leaving or it's late and everything is closed.

One of my favorite places to grab a scotch is Mizner's while listening to the orchestra. Also the lounge at CG has some very good craft beers I enjoy while watching Wishes.

You know who has good Sangria is Via Napoli. You can get it by the pitcher for $20 I think and it is enough for 4 full glasses/pints.
