Wow, you are nicer than me. I would like to send Perry and most of the Texas government farther than Oklahoma (my neice goes to college there, lol).

I just moved in Feb to a different neighborhood in Houston, and when I went to vote at DD's school, there was NOT ONE democrat sign anywhere to be seen!

We moved last year, and voted for the first time yesterday. There were 40 "seats" that we were voting for. Here's the breakdown:

15 with a choice of Dem-Rep-Lib
3 with a choice of Rep-Lib
22 with ONLY Rep candidates

I HATE living where Dems feel they don't have a chance. Also, the line at the polling station was LONG!! We had a pretty long wait yesterday. I shudder to think how long it will take to vote in 2 yrs!!

Gay Marriage
Millions more illegals flooding through an unchecked border
Free medical care, college tuition, etc. for those illegals
24 hour abortion clinics
A degraded military
Further erosion of the family and values

I also expect that this country will be hit worse than on 9/11.
The Muslim extremists are getting EXACTLY what they want -- more spineless Democrats ruining America. They will be emboldened like never before.

Though I addressed this generally, I haven't gone item by item, but I would like to.

Higher taxes - no doubt in my mind, though it will take a couple of years and a Democrat President before it happens.

Gay marriage - no change at all on the federal level.

Millions more illegals flooding through an unchecked border - Millions more? Doubtful, but there will be a huge push to grant amnesty to all of the ones that are already here. There is the possibility that the new Congress will use their hatred of business to heavily fine and punish those that hire illegals, (which would be a GOOD thing, IMO), but an unintended consequence would be that fewer illegals would be coming here for jobs, so this could actually cut back on illegals coming into the country.

Free medical care, college tuition, etc. for those illegals - Free medical, sure. Free tuition, I doubt it, though I can see them trying to push the states to offer in-state tuition breaks to illegals.

24 hour abortion clinics - Abortion is already legal, and there aren't 24 hour abortion clinics that I'm aware of. Nothing is going to change vis a vis abortion at the federal level.

A degraded military - Possible, but not likely. I think it will be a hard sell to cut military funding at the moment.

Further erosion of the family and values - No politician of either party determines my family's values, and I would be concerned about any family that allowed that to happen, regardless of party affiliation.

I voted a straight Republican ticket. We lost. I will still continue to live my life in a manner that is true to my beliefs no matter who is in office. And, I will not lower myself to the point of bashing anyone, even if I happen to not agree with their views or stance.

That being said, I do feel that it is a shame that people cannot be more respectful of one another. These campaigns are shameful on both sides. We need to get back to a more united America. You get more done when you work together as a team. United we stand, divided we fall.

I hope the Republican party sees this as a wake up call that the extreme right of the party is not who they should be catering to. I am a moderate conservative (fiscally conservative but socially mildly liberal). The religious wrong part of the party tends to trick me off.

As many have stated, you might want to reconsider moving to Canada. They have things like gay marriage and *gasp* free medical care in that country, so I'm sure you wouldn't like it much.

But hey...given the attitude of many on the right, I'm sure you'd find Afghanistan hospitable. They KILL gays, after all, and EVERYONE has to live under the same religious belief and law.
