Getting wedding dress down to disney....

How has everyone got the dress down to disney??

Has anyone just shipped it to the hotel?? If so did you have any problems with is?

I dont know how I want to do this and would love to hear any reccomendations.

I didn't get married in Disney, but I flew my wedding dress cross-country twice in the overhead compartment, and it was just fine.

I shipped mine to Carolyn Allen. For $15 they will accept delivery of your dress, store it (for 2 weeks or less), and then deliver it to your hotel room. Steaming costs extra. After the wedding, they picked it up when they picked up DH's tux, packed it up and shipped it back to my house.

That is a good question - I think they will. They do steam bridesmaids dresses after all. I'd just call them to double check.

Alternatively, you could FedEx it to your hotel.

they do this for bridesmaid dresses as well!

i took my dress on the plane with me. after a brief altercation with the flight attendant, it had it's own window seat. i would recommend shipping it with insurance. it would have been a lot less stress than carrying it on.

How much did it cost you to have them ship it back after the wedding? Also, how long did it take you to get it after the wedding? We are having an at home reception a month later and need to get it cleaned etc before then.

For shipping, they charged me what UPS charged them, which was about $35. It took about 2 weeks to get my dress back, but that's cuz I paid for slow shipping.

You might ask them about cleaning the dress for you - I know they offer a service where they preserve the dress and then ship it back to you, so maybe they could just clean it for you and ship it back. Of course then you'll prolly need to get the wrinkles from shipping steamed out, so maybe that wouldn't save you any time...
