Getting upset about our purchase... OLD POST

Never happened to Boardwalk. The place is damn near perfect.:cool1:

Yeah....well, somewhere Richyams is laughing it up over that one!!

RINKWIDE....you are the FUNNIEST person ever!!!

tjkraz - You are about as big of an SSR supporter as I am a BCV supporter. And, I know exactly why you bumped this post. I think it was very nice of you!!! We all feel a little "nervous" when we buy into DVC, especially as most of us buy before we have ever stayed in a DVC room. I think there are an awful lot of nervous SSR owners around here, and I think it was really sweet of you to make them feel better. People are always saying that all resorts got bashed when they opened...and your bumping this just helped people to see that.

And.....as a BCV owner and lover....THANK YOU!!!! :love2: :love2: :love2: Gosh, I hope lots of people never read the whole thread and think BCV is "going down the tubes"....that's just more space for me!!!! :earboy2: But, really....who could NOT like BCV..."That place is damn near perfect". :rotfl2: (Sorry JohnNJ....I just couldn't help myself!!)

Seriously....everyone RELAX!!!...I'm glad we all love our home resorts!!!!

Just another unwanted opinion......

As a non-BCV owner (as of yet), and a certified DVC troublemaker from the great Northeast:

tjkraz's message and attempt were crystal clear to me. He wanted to reassure newer (SSR) owners of the cyclical nature of resort bashing, and wanted to give lenshanem a chance to chime in with, "...yes, it's wonderful, we love...."

IMHO, anyone who took it the other way had an existing chip on their shoulder and wished to 'fight'. This is NOT an example of the difficulty in accurately communicating and sharing 'tone' with the written word, this was clearly an ambush of tjkraz.

And that's fine too, this is still America, opinions can and should vary, and YMMV. However, tjkraz's intent was both clear and positive....

Finally I must disagree with these words of tjkraz......

snip "If you don't like the program, start turning the dial to the right." snip

It should be: "If you don't like the program, start turning the dial to the LEFT."

Peace out,

-Tony

But greenban, I didn't ask for an old post of mine to be brought back that was dead years ago. I never intended to "ambush" tjkraz. Instead I felt he was baiting me –

So, Shan, how do you feel about your purchase almost 2 years later?

I'm curious to hear how lenshanem feels about her Home resort choice after the fretting that inspired the post.

Seriously, how was this old post even found? I surely can't recall things I posted or discussed from two years ago on here enough to find them to bump them back up.

Those still searching for some ulterior motive...THERE IS NONE!!! I remember reading this thread (at least the earlier posts) with some fondness years ago, and had thought perhaps the old-time members of the board shared that sentiment. If not, then I guess it will remain my own private joke.

tjkraz sent me a PM and I responded back to him. Maybe I did take this personally as some sort of an attack on me, but after his PM I really am not mad anymore. I appreciated his attempt to PM me in private. What does irritate me is that I posted all is well between tjkraz and I, but yet I’m still getting grief. I don’t care to fight, it is one of the things I hate most on these boards. I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS POST TO BE BUMPED! I feel like I was thrown back into this thread without even wanting to be! I feel like I was the one ambushed.

This has begun to drift far from being a DVC topic to being personal comments towards others. Please use email or PM to direct those thoughts. Please keep any other posts on the topic of THIS thread.

Thanks

Not sure where we would rate on the BCV-SSR thing as we own at both :flower:

Funny enough, we like both for different reasons :cheer2:

But if push came to shove, we would sell our SSR before our BCV investment (location, location, location)

We are very pleased with our purchases (yes, even VB!) and if we had the chance to do it again would not change a thing

Cheers

P.S. Amazing what secrets an archive can hold - I remember this thread like it was yesterday :badpc:

The point of bumping this up was to illustrate that initial criticisms and judgments don't hold up well over time. That was true for BCV, and by analogy will hold true for SSR. The analogy is tight, and not apples to oranges as some have suggested here.
