Getting to Whispering Canyon from Pop Century

I have a 5:30 reservation at Whispering Canyon. What is the easiest way of getting there from Pop Century. None of us drive, so we don't have a car. We have to rely on Disney transportation to get us anywhere and everywhere we want to go. We won't be at a theme park that day. It will be one of our lazy days around the pool.

What time should we leave Pop to get there in plenty of time for a 5:30 reservation? Is there anything at Fort Wilderness that a 6-year old would like to see if we went earlier and spent some time there before dinner? Are there things to do there?

I also have another question concerning getting to Trail's End. I am planning on making a dinner reservation on another lazy day and then going to the campfire. What time should we leave Pop Century and what is the easiest way of getting there? What would be a good time for dinner in order to be at the campfire for the sing-a-long, etc?

If we went earlier in the day are there things to do that a young kid would like? We are trying to find fun things to do besides theme parks.

I also need transportation info on getting to the minature golf places and the Lego store in Downtown Disney.

Thanks for your input.

I don't know the time but you will have to transfer to another bus. There are two ways to go via bus. Pop Century to downtown disney then another bus to Wilderness Lodge or Pop Century to a theme park then another bus to Wilderness Lodge.

You could take a bus to MK then a boat to Wilderness Lodge.

We went to Downtown Disney and took the bus from there. When we left WC we took the boat to MK. It was a nice relaxing ride. From MK you can either go to the park, take the monorail to EPCOT or catch a bus back to the POP.
PS: You're gonna LOVE WC!

For both destinations, I would take the bus from Pop to Magic Kingdom, then the designated boat to Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness. I'd allow an hour and a half to get from Pop to WL (but I always figure something will go wrong :)) and yes, I think there are things for your six year old to do at FW. I know there's a petting zoo, although it may not be walking distance from the dock, you may need to take an internal bus.

We did WC from POP in March when the crowds were light. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes. I would probably take use the buses (Pop to MK, MK to WL) if I were to do it again since more people can fit into one. If you don't get the first boat from the MK to WL, you'll be waiting up to 20 minutes for the next one. It happened to us when going to the campground for HDDR.

I would give yourself 2 hours. If you're early - look around a while. It's neat to see teh WL.

I bet for about 10.00 you could get a taxi to take you and save about an hour an fifteen minutes! We do this when we have to get from our resort to another and the expense is way better than the time spent on the bus!

Since the cabs do not charge by the person, we can pile all six in and go for one price.

I even had the resort staff take us once when they were not busy. They offered and didn't charge us anything.

In August we took a cab from WL to POP. Cost : $16+ tip.

Still, a small price to pay for an hour and a half in a bus. Especially after dinner when everyone is tired from the day. Maybe take a bus there and splruge for a cab home?

grab the first park bus. doesnt matter which one. and then to wl from that park.
