How hard is it to get to Tropicana Field in Tampa from WDW? I'll be staying at the Radisson Lake Buena Vista in April and taking a side trip to see the Red Sox play Tampa Bay. I'll have a car...how's the drive and about how long does it take?
Thanks! :D

Tampa traffic can be a real pain!

Tropicana Field is actually in St. Petersburg so while it might be 70 minutes to Tampa, the Trop is a bit farthur.

Basic directions:
I-4 west to I-275 South and follow the signs to Exit 22.
There will be plenty of officers to direct you to parking.

Best to leave a few hours before the game.
Parking is generally not a problem...park right @ the stadium..easy in and easy out.

I would wait to buy tickets until you get to the game, unless you really want something specific. Red Sox and Yankee game are the biggest draw for the D-Rays, but even still..you might only have 20,000 there.

I've been to a couple Sox games down there and hopefully get to go again in 2005.

average drive from WDW to I-75 is 60 minutes. average drive from I-75 to the Trop is 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. I-4 most of the way to 275 is under a heavy reconstruction project, so be aware. once I-4 merges with 275 S, it's good. make sure you have gas before you head out of downtown tampa for st pete. I don't want you to run out somewhere over tampa bay. it's pretty much a straight shot, with the merge at malfunction junction. (I-4 @ 275) :D
