Hello,

We have 8:00AM ADR's at Tusker House, Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Faire during our trip. The parks don't open until 9AM on the days we have ADR's at Tusker House and Crystal Palace. How do we get to the parks from POR that early in the morning? Is there special transportation available for people with early dining reservations?

Thanks.

Yikes, I just answered your post about the DDP but some of that is now up in the air.

Disney Transportation does have buses leaving early for the Parks; I think they start the normal schedule 45 minutes before the park opens with one or two leaving earlier for the Breakfast in the park crowd. I normally drive except for the MK. You should check with Disney now to be sure.

The problem is this. There is no general transportation from Resort to Resort or Park to DTD. To get to Park Fair you would probably have to catch the bus to MK, then the monorail to Poly. Of course you could walk from MK to the Poly, but with a 3 yr old?? There is a boat service from the Poly to MK, but I have no idea, when it starts. You have to do the reverse to get to DTD; i.e. take the Monorail or a bus to a Resort, then catch a bus to DTD. (Disney knows that to avoid the $14 parking fee, a lot of people would park at DTD and ride the bus to the parks. You can still do it, but it is not very convenient.)

I think the above info is correct, but I might be mistaken. Since I usually stay at an All Star Resort and only use Disney Transport to MK. The one time I drove to MK to go on an early Keys to the Kingdom tour, the Monorail had a glitch and made me 45 minutes late--Ferry was not working that early.

Once again, have fun on your trip!

In May 2009 I had the early morning ADR's at Crystal Palace and Tusker House. We were stayign at Carribean Beach resort and used the bus system both times. The Busses I beleive started at 7am and we had NO issue getting there on time.

The bus we were taking in MK for Crystal Palace actually stopped at the Contemporary Resort for those going to Chef Mickey's. I am not sure if they will stop at the GF for Park Fair but you can always ask when you get on the bus. Otherwise take the monorail. I think they ONLY make the extra stops when it is the first bus of the morning.

Why would the OP go to the Poly??

They used to run character breakfast buses early in the morning - ask at the resort about them. But in general to get to Park Fare you'll need to take the bus to MK and then take the *resort* monorail from MK. You'll be going all the way around the loop clockwise, so GF will be the last stop. There's also a boat launch from MK directly to GF, but I don't think it'll be running early enough for your purposes. For the park restaurants, you should have no problem as bus transportation will start 2 hours ahead of time.

When I stayed @ the Poly last December I never found a way to walk to the MK - and I walked the grounds a bit. I thought the only MK resort that you could walk to/from the MK was the Contemporary - am I mistaken?

You are not mistaken there is no walkway from the GF (a canal is in the way) or the Poly(they don't have a pathway- it would be through some rugged woods area)

you can walk to MK from The Contemporary resort, but not from the Poly. Which is neither here nor there, since the OP is not going to the Poly (Tusker House is at AK, Crystal Palace is at MK and Park Fare is at Grand Floridian.)

Take the early bus to Animal Kingdom, the early bus to Magic Kingdom (for Crystal Palace...and for Grand Flor. Get off the bus at MK, and go to the resort monorail, ride it to Grand Flor.)

Or you can take a cab to any of these places.
