Remember if you are using Disney transportation to give yourself about 90 minutes to make your ADR. A lot of times it won't take that long but it might. You can always Uber over if it is in your budget. Cheers!!!!!!
Yup, that'll work as long as you give yourself enough time. Uber is faster. If you arrive early, you can take a nice walk around the grounds or check our the grotto.
I'm a frequent day trip visitor with my AP so I'm more than happy to let Disney drive me around & be in the bubble when I actually do stay there. I really didn't want to drive my car cause I want to just relax after I drive there (38 minutes left of work!!). And I want some sangria tonight too!!
ehhh...it was a little chilly Friday night for a boat ride for this FL girl
We did the 8:15pm show. We (2 adults) found it overall enjoyable & the food was good (they brought more of anything we asked for & our server kept our sangrias coming!). But it's a one & done for us. I think my mom was expecting more of a true Hawaiian luau show & I had to keep reminding her it was a Spirit of Aloha story. lol Still we agreed it was something we were glad we did. The show did pick up in the "second" half after they clear the food out & turn the lights down more.
We did the bus to MK & then the monorail to Poly. Just an FYI you have to go thru MK security & scanning even though we were just trying to get to the resort monorail (the ferry would also be in there) so allow time for that. Luckily there were no lines & it was quick. We had plenty of time at the Poly to get downstairs, get our leis, check in, have pictures taken in the front lobby & still mosey out to the Cove where the show is. Bonus with the late show is fireworks were at 8pm that night so we got to watch those while we waited & they started letting people in for seating. Seating was assigned so even though we lingered to watch the fireworks & let the majority of the crowd go in first, we still had seats in the front of our area.

Glad you enjoyed the luau. I have been twice over a period of about 15 years. Then show seemed dated and not nearly as good as a real luau in Hawaii. Like you, I thought the food was excellent and plentiful.
