We are staying at the BC next month. I'm wondering if we are entering Epcot from the IG (at opening time), will we beat the crowds from the regular entrance to Soarin'? I think we are closer, so I'm hoping. My friend just returned and they didn't get on Soarin' :guilty: . I have to get on it!!!!!!!!!!! :flower:

Opinions, please.

Thanks,

Anna

About even distance with possibly those at the front gate a slight advantage.

I have the same feeling as Sammie as to distance, however, you may have a slight advantage from IG in that there should be fewer people coming in at this gate then at the main gate.

And if you want to be a bit underhanded, tell the guard at the IG entrance from BC that you are on a tour and are heading up to the front (where they meet) to check-in. They will let you in way early. They don't have a list or anything to check against.

We are in the same boat, staying at BWI in August. Our plans are to take a taxi to the main entrance of Epcot and save ourselves from having to run from the IG to TT and Soarin just so we can sort of keep up with the people coming in from the main entrance. By the way, this is my 1000th post!!!

Hey...gotta do what you have to. I'll be staying at the Swan in a couple of weeks so I'd like to know too. What kind of tour am I on again and will I be asked why I'm not in the front with the rest of my group?

Oooo, that's devious!!! Will think about trying that on our August trip. Where can I found out what "tours" would normally be meeting at opening?

I would not suggest saying you are on a Tour when you aren't. Too much of that & we'll see an end to early morning tours.
But, IG isn't that far away from Soarin. Go in, head left toward UK, follow around til you get to the Path from Canada to Imagination, take that & head to the Land. If you go straight there, no matter if the front entrance has any small advantage, you'll get on the ride or get an early FP. You might not be first, but so what?

go and get on soarin and then grab a fast pass for it...go to tt...and get in line...the crowds are not heading to tt enmasse like they used to be becasue of soarin...your wait at tt will be minimal...after tt, go to ms...grab another fast pass to tt, on your way back to soarin...

.....(snip).....
More likely they will just more consistenly ask for your confirmation number or name.

Best wishes -

We had no issues getting on Soarin at rope drop time or getting a FP during the morning hours. Later in the afternoon, the FP were gone and the lines were long, like it used to be (and sometimes still is) for Test Track. In the morning - you'll be fine whichever entrance you use.

we stayed at BCV in may and entered epcot through the IG. we had no trouble getting onto soarin very quickly...we entered just as a stream of people were walking from the main entrance to the land pavillion. so even if the walk is a little longer for IG, there are so many less people entering there, so you'll get into the park faster. have fun!!

You guys are right....if your there when they first open and even if everyone did head for Soarin you still have a better chance of getting on than those arriving an hour later. My plan would probably be is have my son get the fastpasses right away while the rest of us head for the ride and we'll wait it out and then be able to go on it again later. We're there for 2 weeks so I'm sure we'll get our chance.
I still wish they would let those that enter Epcot from the IG entrance go in about 5 mins. earlier than those that enter through the main gate.

We went in early June and we started from IG at 9:00am, and we got to Soarin with the rest of the mob, grabbed an FP for 9:40-10:40am, got in standby line that said 10mins, got out of Soarin' at 9:30am, went over to Living with the Land and did that, then went and did our Soarin' FPs at about 9:50am.

By 10am, we had done Soarin' twice and Living with the Land. By 10am, the standby line was at 30 minutes and the FPs were distributing for 11-12ish.

I really don't think it's going to make that much of a difference if you get there right at opening. It's the one ride you need to go early.

Oogieboogie-
Did you get your fastpass first and then head for the ride? With our family my son usually is the one that grabs the fastpasses while the rest of us head for the ride so that way we can get on it twice.
So I'm assuming with this new ride that nobody heads for Test Track or Mission Space first?
I also think taking advantage of the early morning opening would help. Did anybody find that it did?

Thanks! I have read that people still flock to TT. And I have read/heard of those who haven't gone on Soarin'. Thanks for the advice. I was curious to know if one entrance "beat" the other there. We will head straight there and do the ride/fp thing so we get on twice.

Thanks,

Anna

That's how I'm going to do it and also taking advantage of the extra morning hour which may help. If not, we'll try another day....

Is soarin open for the late admission? Also is the extra hours the parks are open just for resort guess, like early admission?

No Soarin isn't open for EMH (early or late) and yes, the evening hours are just for resort guests.
