Getting to Seaworld from Disney resort or Downtown Disney

I want to save money on transportation and I'm thinking of the LINX system, but are there any other options (except for mears or limo)?... Can I take a Disney bus to downtown disney and then take a cab ?...wil it be cheaper ?.......Mears would be $48 for a family of four and the LYNX BUS system would be a hassle to get there. Can anyone think of another option were I could take the Disney resort bus half way to somewhere and then get a cheap cab fare or something ?
