My plane is scheduled to land at 9:40 am, I have an ADR at Sci Fi at 11:40. Is that enough time to get there via Magical Express to ASSp and Disney Transportaton? I don't have to check in, I am joining a friend, and I don't think I will have any other carryon beside the camera, so I won't need to do anything at the hotel. I already have my activated AP.

Opinions?

If the plane is not delayed, you don't have to wait too long for the ME bus to leave, and the stars are aligned just right you should be able to make it although you may be cutting it close.

You're cutting it incredibly close.

Avergae time from deplaning to resort drop-off is 70 minutes. Let's say it takes you 90 minutes, and this is assuming your flight arrives exactly on-time. It's now 11:10 a.m. That leaves you 30 minutes to get to the bus stop, wait for the bus, ride on the bus, walk to the front entrance, and walk through half the park to get to the restaurant. Cutting it very close. If you're the type who stresses over things like this, then bag the ADR, it's not worth it. If you're the type who doesn't care one way or another, then try it and hope it works.

I try to give it 3 hrs btwn flight landing and that first AR

Are you meeting your friend at the restaurant?

Hmmm... let me see.
We had a similar situation in December. Our plane was scheduled to land at 10:11 and was just about on time. Our Sci-Fi reservation was at 12:40. We rented a car from National which went smoothly -- we just walked to the car and drove it away. We stopped at Boardwalk to check in, but the checkin only took 15 minutes including my walk to and from the car. We drove to MGM (very short drive), and were less than 10 minutes early for our ADR. In other words we just barely made it. You are not checking in, but you only have 2 hours instead of 2.5, you are taking Magic Express which will take longer, and Disney transportation to MGM, which will take longer. Absolutely no way. Give yourself AT LEAST 3 hours after landing.

MIGHT take longer. COULD take longer. If there is even a moderate wait for your bags at baggage claim, it's not a slam dunk that DME will be slower than renting a car.

I'm thinking of getting a town car, but I would have to check in and get my bags to my room. I'll have to check with my friend on the timing.
