Do you have to come out of Wilderness Lodge and go all the way around the MK parking lot and back in just above the main parking gate? Don't care for public transpo, would rather drive my self.

If you are driving to MK from WL, yes, you would need to park at the TTC, and then either the monorail or boat over. If you take the bus or boat from WL (much better option), you are taken directly to MK (no TTC) lickety split!

I'm all about driving to the parks, but no way would I consider that WL to MK.

The only other option is to drive your car to BLT and pay to valet park, then walk 5-10 minutes to MK.

Once you get to the MK parking lot, you have to take "public" transportation, either the monorail or ferry boat, to get to MK. You can avoid all that trouble by just taking the boat from WL to MK to start with. It really is a nice boat ride. :)

So the bus to MK from WL goes directly to MK and back to WL without going all around the parks? I just keep reading about how it took 90 minutes to get somewhere on the bus when I could get there in 15-20 minutes in my car.

It's highly likely that the walk to your car will be as long or longer than the walk to the boat. The boat is a great way to arrive at MK! You have to take public transportation to MK one way or another. Even if you drive, you have to take the ferry or the monorail to MK from the parking lot.

Yep, WL to MK is direct, less than 5 min ride either direction. Just make sure you get on an MK bus at WL and all will be good. You can't beat the short trip, except maybe by walking from CR.

The confusion comes from the other bus routes that go to other destinations. It can take about half an hour on the bus to get some places from WL (like DTD) but nowhere should take much more than that. The WDW transportation system is complex, but fairly efficient for its size.

Like others mentioned, the boat is a nice pretty option too, although not as fast as the direct bus. You could also boat to CR, which is a shorter trip then you could walk from there if you want.

Those longer trips tend to involve efforts to get from one resort to another. No resort-to-park (and vice versa) trip should take more than 40 minutes unless you are trying to leave a park after the nighttime parade or at closing when you may have to wait for a few buses before you can board (or someting goes terribly wrong).

I don't like using WDW transportation either, but with WL you can just take a boat and end up in the same spot the boat from TTC would put you at. Even I would just take the boat, and I have had great luck with good parking spots at the TTC and don't mind driving there. But from WL? Boat.

This is the way to go... Driving your self is just nuts (for us). We did before & it was just way to much hassle & took to long (never again).... :scared1:
