Getting to MCO Marathon Morning

First post here! Planning a trip in January which has us flying home on Marathon Sunday on a 12:15 flight. Leaving from the Beach Club. How will road closures for the race affect our transportation plans? Will probably use Uber of Lyft, but waiting to see what Mears comes up with.

First post here! Planning a trip in January which has us flying home on Marathon Sunday on a 12:15 flight. Leaving from the Beach Club. How will road closures for the race affect our transportation plans? Will probably use Uber of Lyft, but waiting to see what Mears comes up with.

I think it's too soon to say, but for planning purposes, allowing an extra hour of travel time should cover whatever develops.

At BCV, you leave and get on Buena Vista Drive. And on Marathon day, Buena Vista Dr. is involved in a couple of ways. One is early morning 3-5 am, it gets really bad for buses/cars heading to Epcot for the race (in part because World drive gets backed up heading towards Epcot).That would be cleared out by the time I expect you leave (say 9-ish). The other impact is runners on a short section of Buena Vista to go into DHS (backstage)--but we turn into DHS well before Epcot Resorts Blvd by BCV. So that shouldn't be an issue. Assuming you come out of BCV and go left on Buena Vista heading to 536, you will avoid that. There will still be bus traffic using Buena Vista to get to Epcot for runner transport, but it's spread out over more time than the morning.
