Getting to Magic Kingdom for 8am breakfast

I have early 8am breakfast reservations at Crystal Palace. I will be traveling with family that includes toddler grandchildren from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom which opens at 9am. I am told buses from Animal Kingdom start at 8am because park opens at 9am. I am also told Monorail doesn't start til 8:30am because of construction on tracks. It would seem that my only option is to have a rental car and drive to Magic Kingdom lot and take a boat which I am hoping transports people to the Magic kingdom for early entry. Does anyone have a better suggestion or has anyone had a similar problem getting from one park of Disneyworld to another? It seem there are a lot of obstacles to overcome.

I have not stayed at AKL, but at POP, buses start running around 6:30. I can't imagine it being any different. Lots of folks have pre park opening ADRs. You should be fine.

Buses start at 6:30 every single day. I would advise being at the bus stop by 7:00.

Thanks to all its good to know some people have used the bus as early as 6:30am. I actually called the Animal Kingdom Lodge and was told the buses would not start til 1hr before park opening which made it 8am. I guess I have to keep digging for information. With the new MDE and Fastpass system and the transportation issues planning this trip is becoming a headache and we have made a lot of trips there.

You should be fine on the bus. We took the bus from Pop to CRT breakfast for an 8:05 reservation and had no problem.

No, you don't; 6:30 am is the correct answer. When you called AKL, you didn't actually talk to someone at the resort, you talked to someone at a call center, and that call center may not have even been in Florida.

You are right siskaren buses do start earlier. I got the direct line to Animal Kingdom lodge and spoke to someone that conformed that there are early morning buses for the purpose of taking people to character breakfast. Thanks.

I think for some reason the resort cast members are trained to tell everyone that--maybe to avoid tons of people getting to the parks super early?? Our AS Music people told us the same thing in August and it just wasn't true. We had four 8 am breakfasts scheduled and the bussing was fine.
