Getting to Kona Cafe from AKL before party

We'll be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge in late Sept.-early Oct., and we'd like to eat at Kona Cafe before the Halloween party. What is the best (i.e. shortest) way to get to dinner and MK and back?

I was thinking of taking the bus from the lodge to AK park and then take the bus to the Polynesian for dinner. After dinner, we'd take the monorail to MK. And after the party, take the bus back to the hotel. Sound OK?

Or, since we will have a rental car, should we just drive?

4-should we just drive?

1- Either that (which is fine) or take the bus from AKL to MK, then take the monorail to the Poly.
Or, board the little shuttle boat that goes from MK to Grand Floridian, then the Poly.
(The boat is very nice, if you have the time.)
2- Or the little shuttle boat back to MK, again.
3- Yup.
4- Some prefer driving, but to MK, it's about a toss-up between the buses or the TTC parking lot for "convenience," or lack thereof.
