Ok my turn,
My name is Peggie, and I am a pin addict.... oops, sorry, wrong meeting...
I live in Ct, one of the most beautiful states in the US. Fall is georgeous, but I still can't wait to move to FL someday, it gets too cold here.
I have 3 boys, David who is 26 and just moved out to his own apt. He works as a manager at CVS so when I move he can re-locate easily and plans on moving down to FL when I go. Sean who is 23 and probably won't move out till I move away. He is going to college now, finally, and talks about being a zoologist someday. Great jobs in AK I hear. And Chris who is 19 and moves in and out depending on what's for dinner. He is living away at college but it is only 8 minutes away so he drops in alot. But I love my boys more than life itself so I enjoy all the time I have with them.
We have 2 dogs that David claims to own, but he left them with me. Conan is 13, a mutt we got from the pound, and Gizmo is 2 and my baby. He is a fat miniature Doberman who I have on a diet right now.
We also have four cats, Mellow who is 7, and Orbit who is 5. Sean claims them as his. Coconut thinks he is a dog, and even eats only dog food, who is 4 and Wicket who is 3. Christopher claims them as his. The boys claim the animals, I just clean up after them and feed them.
Guess I can't complain though, David took the tarantula, 4 frogs, 2 scorpions,2 lizards, Snake fish, and boa constrictor with him when he moved out.
I was married for 13 years, and have been divorced now for 15 as of October 31. I guess I should say that the divorce is what got me so crazy about Disney. When my boys were young I could take them to WDW and always felt that they were safe. We could go to the parks and have a great time, and not worry about being mugged on the way back to our resort. And there was always something new to see and do. Unfortunately my boys are not as crazy as I am about the World and they have limited their trips to once per year now. But that won't stop me, I go as often as I can, averaging 4 or 5 a year. We are also BIG roller coaster nuts so I am glad to see more and more exciting rides coming to WDW, but we do always plan for a few days at "that other park" to get our coaster rides in.
I have a great companion who lives in my house. He enjoys WDW almost as much as I do so it is great to have someone to go to the parks with now that my boys don't want to go as often as before.
I am a nurse and work at Fairfield University, which is ranked as one of the top Universities in the North by US News and World Report. I have my Associate Degree and am only 3 courses shy of getting my BSN but who has time? Maybe someday, but the three courses I need are never scheduled when I am off work.
I started pin trading accidentaly. I picked up some of the Donald Magical Moments pins at TDS for $.90 each and thought I would trade them for pins I liked and end right there. Well there were more pins I liked than Donald pins I bought so I had to buy more. And then there were pins I saw that were no longer available so I had to trade.... And I became obsessed. When I started collecting I got the "have to get it's" and bought and traded for every pin. I am in the process now of cutting back and trying to consolidate my collection to a few groups. But it is hard to decide which will go and which will stay.
Mickey is my favorite. "Oh Mickey your so fine, your so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey, Hey Mickey.... " Sorry, I heard that song this morning when the alarm clock radio went off and I can't get it out of my head. I don't like that $(^@# Minnie, she is my competition. Bet she never saw Mickey in a SPEEDO! But some of my favorite Mickey pins have her on them so I guess I have to put up with her. Unless someone can figure out how to cut her off the pins like I did with my wedding photos and my ex.
I have made some great friends through pin trading and enjoy all the meets and events when I can get together with the group. I see so many changes since pin trading started some good and some not so good, so sometimes I have to step back and clear my head. When I come to again, I run a pin swap. This always helps me see that there are many great people who trade and staying friends with them is what makes it worth staying in the hobby. Peggie
