What is your favorite Halloween costume growing up?

Mine was Wonder Woman in the 5th grade. My mom made it for me. I need to see if my dad has any slides of that halloween.

My mom made my Wonder Woman costume too...about 4th grade or so...

I didn't have an all time favorite because my parents could have cared less about that holiday... guess that is why I make it fun for my kids to have memories.. I did enjoy dressing up as a 50's girl!!!

My favorite memory of my kids (even though I love them all) was when all 3 dressed up as tigers w/ tiger tails and all.. We got some great comments on it too..

Pocahontas. My cousin (9 years older than I) made me a hand beaded headband thing. My grandmother made the costume and my mother made me a pampoos (sp?) (baby backpack carrier) which I put my favorite doll in. You would have thought i had stepped out of Wyoming in the 1800's.

Raen that sounds so cool!

My favorite for the kids was the Chimney Sweep costumes mom made for our Disney trip. The kids had a blast and everyone loved them!
We made pageboy hats and jackets out of black corduroy scarfs out of just remnant fabric and we used artist Charcoal for the soot smudges on their faces. I used swiffer extender brooms and black pipe cleaners for the sweeps.

I'll have to see if I can find a pic, I just moved all my pics last night to another hard drive.

I had Wonder Woman Underoos! I don't recall a favorite Halloween costume of mine. My brothers liked to dress me up in their oversized soccer uniform and stuff a pillow in the belly. Not sure what that was about. :confused3

My favorite was Jasmine at 16. My baby brother (3 at the time) was Aladdin, my little brother (12) was the Magic Carpet. My baby brother carried a monkey puppet for Abu. It was cute.

During the bicentennial we all had prairie girl dresses in our town. I must have been in 5th grade and it was a yellow calico dress, hat and all. Other than that, the only other costume I actually remember was Miss America. I had on a long dress and my mom made me a sash that said "Miss America"

Of COURSE my fav was a Disney Princess! My aunt was older, and had this strapless poofy prom dress, and I had the sparkly shoes, and I had a tiara... boy did I think I was all that!!

I have to work on Halloween this year, but we can't wear a costume. SOOO, I found these funky tigger animal print reading glasses...and I was thinking of finding a tiger stripe fabric to make a scrub top...but then I thought I should wear a tiara, and go as a princess...decisions...decisions....

My mom did a great job making us costumes when we were young. One year, I am guessing 5th grade, I was a white poodle and my Brother was a grandfather clock.

We had lots of cool cotumes over the years- a refigerator, a computer, a yellow submarine, my brother won a costume contest as Mr. Peanut, another one won as the Pilsbury dough boy (his first Halloween).

I didn't have any really cool costumes as a kid since my Mom wasn't really into Halloween. The only one that holds special memories for me is when I was 4 or so and I went as a bride. I just remember everyone commenting on how pretty I looked and that just made me think I was really special.

I've made lots of cool costumes for DS (Mickey Mouse, BamBam, silver knight, dalmation, ninja, etc.). My favorite was when he was 4 and wanted to be Bert from Mary Poppins when he was a chimney sweep. He was absolutely adorable with the hat, a black jacket and pants and soot on his cheeks and he had a big feather duster for the chimney broom. He also carried around a portable tape player with the song "Step in Time" on a tape and he'd play the song and dance. It was so cute!

We never did Halloween when I was a kid, to be honest, no one in the area did. I never had costumes, we never carved jack-o-lanterns and I never went trick or treating (honestly, the first time I ever trick or treated was at MNSSHP 3 years ago - I was 19.) One year my mum decided to have a halloween party as I think she felt she was depriving me so I got a witch costume and we had a party with some family members. That was the extent of my childhood halloween experiences, we never did it again!!! Check out mum's curtains though, far scarier than me!

No cool costumes until I was adult. My Mom could sew, really well actually, but she wouldn't make us costumes or buy them. We were either gypsies or hobos every year. Then when I was about 21, I dressed up as Robin Hood, compound bow and all. LOL I thought I was quite a dish back then.

Now my favorite costumes are pirate or renaissance maiden (too modest for wench). I'll be a pirate tomorrow & my Little Bit will be a Red Power Ranger and my Eldest will be a ninja. We are finally going out for Halloween. To Kroger. :lmao:

:lmao: MY Mom had a shirt made out of that fabric. Talk about scary.

Oh, do I have to pick just one....
My mom was so into Halloween, we had lots of great costumes growing up. My mom made me:
French Fries
Tooth Paste
Grapes
Silvester the Cat
Bugs Bunny
The Tin Man
Little Red Riding Hood
A Bithday Table
A Recycling Bin (before they where cool)

She made everyone of them. I wish I had pictures of the costumes but a wicked stepmother and a hurricane named Charlie took those away!

I have to say that my favorite costume was not for halloween. I was a mascot for cheerleading when I was 5 and I was dressed up as a panther. It was warm for the cold football games.
I remember being a burgerking worker(older sis worked there), and then a clown. Got to love being a clown.:rolleyes1 Can't remember any others. I do remember making a bunny costume for my neice one year. I think she loved that one.

Many ladies here are still wearing that Wonder Woman gear! :thumbsup2

We were either hobos, cheerleaders, one year I vaguely remember being Casper the friendly ghost.

I was an owl once in the school nativity. I don't recall the bit in the Bible where there are owls at the birth of Jesus but I guess I must have missed it! Saying that, I don't recall the verses about the line dancers, fish and rag dolls either and we had all of them in nativitys. Also we had the shepherds singing Bahh-bara Ann by the Beach Boys. It all got rather surreal that year...

I'm a day late...but my favorite was 6th grade when my Mom actually let me wear her wedding dress and veil! Either she  me alot or maybe she was really mad at my dad that Halloween!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
