Getting to know us 12/21

Food shop, clean, and buy 1 gift certificate.
I am about 3/4 finished with wrapping.

I have to make a pin book for DD.

On Monday, 3rd grade Christmas craft. I have to get the class teacher gifts today.

And, my sister is looking for something to do on Christmas Eve so I may be hosting a dinner for up to 8 adults and my 3 kids. If that happens, I'll have to add all that entails to my list.

I'm still making gifts... Beading, Stringing, Crocheting, Stained Glass...yeah, I think that's about it.

Get the last few things for stockings, and 1 more thing for DS16...

And of course there is wrap wrap wrap...

it is my least favorite thing to do. and ds is out of school so i have no *alone* time to do it. so i'll have to pull an all nighter tonight or tomorrow to do it. YUCKY!

oh Holl....make them like I do.... just buy the refrig pb cookie dough that you scoop onto the cookie sheet... they come out perfect every time! ;) :thumbsup2 (but yes, it would be fun to hang out and eat cookies!!)

I also have not wrapped a thing. DH is off on Monday and Tuesday so I am hoping that *IF* the kids have school - we can do some marathon wrapping then (without fear of interuption). I still have to put bows on the Candy Wreaths, pick up some gift cards (for Teachers and Neighbours) Make bread for neighbours...

I baked all day yesterday for the "Buddies" at the Challenger Hockey League that the kids go to on Sundays - and wouldn't you know that not only did we over sleep this morning, but it was to icky to go out this morning... So here I am with a million little xmas tree cupcakes...(guess what I had for breakfast;) )

Eeek, I didn't realize just how behind I am. Guess I'll be playing catch up today (and I still have those pesky prototypes to make - tee hee:laughing: )

Me too! I am so behind. and still working on my prototypes in between on my wrapping that is.

I have to bake some cookies soon. Need them for the parties on Tuesday. The teachers want them on Monday. I guess so they know what they need to supply if it isn't there.
I should wrap the gifts. But they know what they are getting already.

Wow, I didn't realize that some of your kids still have school this week! Our last day was Friday. When do they go back to school after Christmas? My DS goes back on 1/6.

As for what's left to do. Buying and wrapping is all done, but I do have a few cards that need to go out. I also need to get the final things from the grocery store and bake lots and lots and lots of cookies. My Mom, brother, step-grandmother all expect cookie boxes from me every Christmas. DS, DH, and I have gone through the recipes and picked out 7 that I'll be making this year. Peanut Butter Blossoms are ALWAYS on the Christmas cookie list! I think unwrapping the Kisses will be a good job for DS and his girlfriend this afternoon.

DIT- you make the peanut butter blossoms too? maybe i'll try again. mine just never come out good. the three of us are making gingerbread men today. i love gingerbread cookies and hermits and stuff like that!

Here you go Holly.

Peanut Butter Cookies with a Kiss

2/3 C smooth peanut butter (I always use Jiff)
1/2 C unsalted butter, softened
1 C packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsps vanilla
1 1/2 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
40 Hersheys Kisses

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, beat the peanut butter, futter, and brown sugar. One at a time, beat in the eggs, then vanilla extract. On low speed, blend in flour and salt.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until lightly brown. Place baking sheet on a wire rack and immediately place an unwrapped Kiss on the center of each cookie, pressing down so the cookie cracks a little around the edge. Transfer cookies to wire racks and cool completely.

Makes 40 cookies

Enjoy!!

I have to:
1. sort the gifts at church (angel tree) and get them to the families- done more easily than I thought
2. finish putting together a couple of books (pages done but need to be bound) and wrap them
3. make shopping list for food- done
4. food shopping- done
5. pick up brother and sister in law from airport
6. go to Epcot with family
7. register toll passes (for trip)- done
8. hayride, dinner, and movie at church tonight- done
9. get programs ready for Christmas service

I think that is it! I also have a few things to take care of for a memorial service on January 3rd for a church member who passed away this morning.

Rebecca

Not too much at all. Finish 5 more pages for my gift album for my friend's little girl. Should finish tonight. Then wait for the movie schedule for Christmas Day to come out and decide what movie we're seeing. Other than that I am DONE. I had a marathon wrapping session on Friday and there is no baking this year. I only have to work Monday and Friday this week so it should be a nice relaxing week for a change!
