I found DISUnplugged on YouTube one day while looking for random Disney videos to watch. This is something I do in between trips to keep myself sane until my next trip. Yes – I vicariously live through other people’s Disney vacation experiences. I love Disney! Walt Disney World is my home since I was 4-years-old, I was lucky in that my family would visit every year. I’m 46 now with kids whom I’ve happily brainwashed with Disney! (Daughter is a former Castmember) Sorry for the rambling.
I found the 7 Resorts in 7 Days and I was hooked. In search of more DISUnplugged fixes I discovered the Podcast. The DISUnplugged Podcast opened a whole new world for me!!
I had recently started a new job, farther from home, and I hated the commute. Back then, I hated everything actually (except Disney)! I felt sorry for myself for having lost a great job close to home and now here I was driving one hour to and from work! (You know, the woe is me, cue in the violins moments)
I tried Satellite Radio, I tried audio books, I tried calling friends to and from work to keep me company during my commute, but nothing worked! Until I found the DISUnplugged Podcast!!!
It’s been a little over 6 months since I’ve been listening. I’m now a loyal listener and when I’m waiting on a new episode, I simply go back and listen to older shows in an attempt to catch up!
Yesterday, I came across “Get to Know the Team,” dated 5/12/2015. One of my favorite shows thus far, the team poured their hearts out, confessed their moments of down and out. Whereas all team members’ stories are inspirational, Craig and Kevin's story pulls heart strings, Teresa’s is endearing, and Pete’s exemplifies determination. I’m old enough to know that life is not perfect, the team reminded me that we’ve all been through some rough patches in our life but eventually everything turns out the way it should in the end, and the outcome is usually in our favor, if we have patience and perseverance.
Thank you TEAM, once again, for sharing your history and for keeping me sane and in control during my heinous commute to and from work! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, thanks to the DISUnplugged Podcast… I no longer make obscene hand gestures and scream at my fellow commuters!!!!
